Sig 522

Not at all. The only comparison to the 556 is appearance. Different receiver and not interchangeable. If it were a "SIG 556 rifle that is chambered for .22LR" then it would be classified as a Prohibited Variant.

The SIG 522 is awesome. It is the best running .22lr semi-auto rifle we've ever tested. We dumped magazine after magazine through it and never had a single fail to feed or jam... not one. We tried various ammo... ran flawlessly. Slow fire or rapid... ran like a clock.

The gun feels great and shoots great... and looks great :)

RCMP have the sample we supplied them... hopefully we'll hear back in the next month or two with their classification decision.

If it's classified as a non-restricted then I'll be buying the first one personally.

if it's non-restricted, i want one

Don't thank me... it's what we do :)

Besides, I wanted one myself the moment I saw it. Now that I've shot it I want it even more.

Price is pretty awesome too... looks like $649.99 Canadian.

We have the S&W AR-22 and the COLT/Umarex AR-22 here as well (waiting for classification review by RCMP)... I can tell you that they don't come even close to the SIG522 (in my opinion).

I don't think much of the COLT... the S&W looked far better... and then we got to handle the SIG522 and it blew us away.

SIG has really surpassed expectations on this one.

Waiting for any black rifle in .22 caliber, with a non-restricted classification... (Sig 522 / S&W AR-22 / Colt AR-22)

Perfect for plinking in the woods! :D

While waiting news from you, i'll stick with my Krinker Plinker 10/22! :p

What are the odds that the RCMP ignore the technical data, and ignore case law (the Henderson ruling), and make this rifle prohib as a variant, like they did with the GSG5?
What I really want to know is what the #### they've been doing for the last few months with both the Colt .22 and the M&P15/22. Both are supposedly in the country and still "under review". I smell another T97 fiasco.

MARK!
When can I send you payment for the SIG? Are you accepting prepayments - in full? It's only 100$ more than the SR22 I just purchased, and am sure one of my "rats" will claim it ;)
But I can tell you - NO ONE will get there grubbies on my SIG!!

Thanks!

I won't take orders for them until we know if they are allowed for civilian sale... they will either be classified non-Resticted or Prohibited and we won't know until RCMP issues their decision which they indicated would be in 6 to 8 weeks.

Once we know we'll post them on our website. We already have some sitting at our US office... I'm not selling them in the US as I want to make sure we have them available for Canadian orders as soon as the classification decision is released.
