Is this rifle a non-restricted or a prohib?

Swiss assault rifle (Cat. A) SIG 542 cal. .308Win
dioptric sight,assembly for optics,adjustable trigger,folding bipod,
device for grenade shooting,magazine 20shots,
shooting mode 1-3-20.Very well produce and accurate weapon.
It is used by some armed forces for sniper tasks.

The description states 1-3-20 so it is a selective fire rifle (FA). That makes things prohibited.

There was a police model made in safe and semi-auto and it is non-restricted. Not made anymore...factory closed down.

Wiki says a semi only civi version was sold in Europe in .222 Rem and .243 Win. Sounds interesting.

If it is a semi-auto only (and not converted), it is either (depending on barrel length) non-restricted or restricted.

Sig has developed a 7.62 AR rifle that will use M14 mags .
I can't wait until it hits the market .

SIG's new rifle won't use m14 magazines because they are to wide for the receiver. They will use the SIG 308 magazine because they have lots of them and the original manufacturer will make them more.

Funny, I read an article in a gun magazine that specifically stated that they will use M14 mags.

Then they are making a different model than the 542 for the US market and the m14 magazine makes sense.
