Does anyone in Canada even sell the SIG551-A1 and if so is it restricted or non?

It looks similar to the swiss but I am sure the price tag would be about the same even with the MSRP of $2000.

Prohibited here, sorry.

That make no sence just like most of our regs. Thanks for this info. That would explain why I couldn't find it anywhere.

I really like a bunch of the Sig rifles too which I am guessing are prohibited as well.

edit;

What are the differences between this and the Swiss Arms?

The us version has 10 or more us parts, is based on the 550 and not the 540 like the Canadian version. The us is prohibited as it's a variant of.... The Swiss arms is not a variant of the 550. Hopes this makes sense.

Okay while we are on the topic of the Sig rifles what about the Sig716? It is based on an AR but is there any real interchange or just in style? If it interchanges with AR part then I am guessing restricted.

Any AR or 'variant' (including the M&P15-22) is deemed to be restricted. Unfortunately, the 716 is restricted.

The sig rifles are quite inferior to the Swiss one's anyway. If they were available and cheaper I'm sure there would be a market for them but if they were the same or similar in price people wouldn't touch them

Yes there are many ar variants out there, but like the AR180B some similar properties but are not restricted?

What about the Noreen Bad News?

It is patterned after the AR but share really nothing other than maybe a trigger?

I guess I am trying to find a Black rifle that is NR but a bit different than some of the more common rifles.

The swissarms carbine would be the closest to what you're looking for. they come in 14.3" and 17.9" barrels, with sights or flattop..the flattops are rare..especially the 17.9" ones.:D

Get a Black Special and an NEA lower so you can use 10 round magazines. That's what I did. Rest assured it's too expensive to be common. :D

Non-restricted, 10 rounders, badass iron sights, Swiss quality, military design requiring no tools for cleaning, piston operated... it's got it all.
