SIG 556 and Black special

I realize that the 556 is not available to us up here, but...will the complete lower off a Black Special fit the take down pins on the 556, and will it function. Are the two made to the same spec? Any other parts compatible?
I may have the chance to move to the states. If so I want to bring all that I legally can. The Black Special appears to be a no no for import so maybe I can purchase a 556 and rebuild with parts to be as close as possible and legal.

You can use your 55x lower on a 556, and the hanguards from a carbine length rifle will fit also, so you can with a little money and work make a 556 rifle look like a 551. If I understand your question correctly.

Thats basically it. Except the Black Special is not a 55x as far as i know. At least not in law. If it is dimensionally the same it should work. I hope.
Are the internals of the 556 and BS (IE trigger etc) the same?

Refer to it as a "custom" SG 556

But yeah, I believe the Sig 556 upper will work on a Swiss Arms lower. I've seen it done the other way around at least.

You would need to remove some metal from the SAN rifle to use AR mags with the 556 lower.

I want to keep it as close to the Swiss rifle as I can. I would use 556 upper and the SAN lower with mags etc.
Are the internals interchangable redleg?
