I've heard of at least 2 people who may have' em in Canada, are they worth it?

I'm guessing they were ordered not as a a whole rifle but a lower only?

Can anyone else back this up...

They don't come cheap, $650US...

I think there is more than one company makin these in the US, could be wrong.

If you can get them here, I don't think it would be worth the hassle & price hike to get an AR magged, PE90.

I had the chance to buy one when I was in the US but I still don't know if the ATF will let me in the US with a complete gun. It would be nice to be able to take the PE90 down there.

There would also be the expense of a good extendable stock.

And I would have lost the rotating trigger guard which is quite a minor issue but I like that feature...

I emailed Questar about importing one, they said they have never imported one so they were not sure if the DoS would allow them the be exported.

Its sad the hoops we have to jump through just to get 1/3 capacity magazines for a non-restricted rifle.

Is Questar looking into it? The import costs (assuming DoS allows it) may not be too bad if they bring in a batch & if Questar can get wholesale pricing from the manufacturer.

Considering the amount of $3K(and higher) SAN rifles floating around Canada, people may be interested in a lower that allows for AR mags & aftermarket stocks. Of course if the price creeps up to close to $1000.00 I doubt it would fly.

They said I'd have to talk to the import group to have them attempt to bring one in. They are not looking into bringing in a bunch of them, I would expect the cost would be way too high.

The best question is what is the legal status in Canada?

The upper receiver has the serial number and is the registered part on the SAN rifles so its legal to change the lower.

I would buy one if these lowers were brought in. ;)

Please, someone import these before the HST kicks in! :(

Has anyone ever looked in to a mod to make pe90 accept a AR mag, or is this it?

I have one on my wish list, (the real one, not the dreaming wish list) And would love to be able to use 10 rounders. but the cost is so high already.

Given the availability of much less expensive magazines now, is it really worth the effort?

JR

Yes it is! Being able to use good quality AR mags in all your rifles is a huge plus.

These work perfectly with Pmags and Colt mags without any mods. All the other Ar mags need to either have the trunion relief cut/grind or 10 seconds on the grinder for the magazine.

I agree with JR, having an almost $4k rifle + add an extra $1200 or so is getting out of hands just for a service rifle but if you are a big spender $$ by all means, go right ahead.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with the Swiss mags as it is, just takes a bit more attention to releod that is all.

They are 2 really good reasons to want this lower.

1. The ability to fire 10 rd mags over 5 rd.

2. The ability to change mags like an Ar15. I love sig mags and don't mind the ak style of loading them. But in this day and age with crazy ammo prices you have to make your range time count. Always practicing the same muscle moments in your IA's is a plus if you also shoot AR15.

I would buy in heart beat if they were brought in. I'd rather have this then a$400 fake can or $200 beta c mags pinned to 5...
