sig-556 questions

NavyCuda,

You're right, nice to standardize equip, use mags in more than one gun and cheaper too.
I'd love a 556 lower, just to get to use the 10 round AR Pistol mags on my Swiss Arms guns.

Once and for all
Sig 556 - prohib
Sig 550 - prohib
Sig 551 - prohib
Sig 552 - prohib
PE 90 - prohib this is the Swiss civillian version of the Sig 550 it shares all of the important parts with the Sig 550

ALL of the above are variants of the Sig 550, the Swissarms rifles (Black Special, Classic Green, Super Smurfgewehr) that we can purchase here ARE NOT variants of the Sig 550, if they were we would not be able to purchase them.
ha: Super Smurfgewehr

Only reason I did it.. I've said it before, the Swiss Arms lower and mags are far superior to the 556 and AR mags. But the 10rnds/per is unfortunately a selling feature especially in competition and the reason I went that way. It runs fine, I've still not had any stoppages but when using AR mags in anything there's the risk. Eastern Bloc style mags when they're in, it's rock and roll. AR mags.. well..

And don't forget the zombie invasion ;) ... The crate of Pmags I have work in 4 of my guns.

Pretty sure the PE90 is not prohib, unless its actually called something else. (Other than Black Special). Advertised at our local store as the PE90 and is non rest. Stock item even.

If I call my Toyota a Ferrari, does that make it Italian? Your local dealer is selling the Swiss Arms Classic Green and Black Special, the PE 90 is neither, the PE 90 is a semi auto Sig 550 (without the conversion that the Swiss have done when they're finished with their military service- the converted ones are still Sig 550). The Black Special, Classic Green, Carbine and even the CQB are different rifles, they contain many different parts. The RCMP were quite correct in their judgement (makes you wonder what has happened to them lately) these rifles are not variants of the Sig 550/PE 90 series.
