SIG 556R XI in 7.62x39. Looks interesting. Thoughts?

Anyone know if these are awaiting an FRT, or what? Neither an AK variant nor an AR variant. Something else entirely, but cool. Sig 5.56mm rifles are pretty awesome... and I believe the Sig556 rifle is NR, is it not?

Weren't they prohib as a variant of the 550 - lame I know, but they got away with it with the 5.56 cal version.

No, It's prohibited as a variant of the SIG 550.

The rifles we now get are essentially "exempt" because of the SAN prohibition debacle, but realistically any rifle coming in based off of the 550 will be prohibited, including the entire US production.

Check out the Military Arms Channel on YouTube or Full30.com. He's done a few videos on these. Had to go through a couple to get one that worked. Seems like the quality was hit and miss. There is a Swiss version that turns my crank more, but I think it will remain unobtainium as well
