Sig Armourers course??

I remember a few years ago there were a few places that put on the Sig Armourers course. Is there anyone who still does in western Canada?

sigs are nice to work on. join the army they will teach you how to fix them and pay you too! just an idea.

Yeah, weapons tech land is full though, or I'd be doing that and not sitting waiting for supply tech course to open up @.@

I belive that you now have to go to the SIG Acadamy in New Hampshire to get the course. They do hold courses at other locations (in the sates) but are often just for LEO.

Last time I was on the SIG site there was a complete list of course dates.

Joining the army isn't an option unfortunately. I went to Sigs website and fired off an email to see if they have any courses in Western Canada. I'll post the reply when I get it.

No courses scheduled in Canada. In order for a Non-US citizen to attend a course in the U.S., a license has to be obtained from the U.S. State Dept. The cost of this license is $250 plus we require the following documents in order to apply.

1) Copy of passport
2) Copy of offical ID
3) Resume or vita


It takes approximately 60 days to obtain such a license.

This has been the policy for the last two years and yeah it's a bit of a pain. Kathleen is excellent to deal with though and the fee covers as many courses as you want. She suggests listing the courses you might want to attend so that you are covered by the fee. You don't have to register for the courses just list them.
The Academy is a great facillity and the courses and instructors are top notch. It is well worth the trip down.
