OK SIG guys, I am looking for a SIG that has a small frame for smaller hands.

I have a SIG Pro 2022 and I love it, but I have been bitten by the SIG bug and want a different one in 9mm. I did hold one that was stainless and a nice fit, but do not remember the model number. If I can find out what a smaller one is, I will then be in the market to give the 2022 a brother.

Well Gommee you doi have a couple of choices if you want a Sig with a smaller grip. I think if you look around you may be able to find a 225 restricted. I actually carried one on the job for years and where i have small girlie type hands I found it pretty comfortable. The one thing I did add to conform to my hand a little better was a hogue pull on grip. It just helped the hand from moving around too much.
I currently use a P229 that I just think is the best piece of kit since the Browning. Its small enough to fit my hand but still robust in its own right.
Cheers

I also recommend looking at the 229 but also see how the Sig 226 fits too. I love my 226 and with the ability to put different grips on it maybe it would work for you

For smaller hands I don't recommand the 229, it's fatter than the 226. the 220/225 have a slimmer but longer grip.

You can get SIG slim aluminium grips for P229. Installing a short trigger will also help people with small heads. A number of dealers, including Questar, carry both slim grips and short triggers.

Sorry I meant to say the 239. But if you haven't tried any of them you should and see what works best for you.

I have small hands and shot a 226. I didn't find much difference between a 229 and 226 regarding the grips (don't think there is any difference). The short trigger is what you're looking for, it changes everything.

Might consider aluminium grips, it makes the grip thinner by a few mm.

You have to look for single stack then.. look at P225 (if you can find one) or P220. Or a mosquito if you're looking for 22lr :)

I know their not Sigs, but specifically for small hands, you should look at the CZ 75b, HK P2000, HK P30L or SW M&P.

I held a gorgeous stainless SIG that fit perfectly, but I do not remember the model number.

I am not looking for a gun with a manual safety. I have an XD9 and a SIG Pro 2022, but I am looking for another SIG, one with a metal frame.

I wanted to buy Sig P226 elite. The wood grips were too fat for me hands. Settled for regular P226. If only P226 grip same as P220. I have P220 Classic as well and fits my hands perfectly.

I bought a P226 Elite and immediately swapped out the grips. Those grips are a bit silly. They're great if you're only ever going to look at the gun in a box, but no good if you plan on shooting it.

Yeah, I could have done that. The wood grips sure looked nice. :) I forget the difference between elite besides wood grips and night sights. It was a few hundred more. I just settled for cheapest Sig P226. I should have gone cheaper and bought classic but didn't know at the time. Had I bought P226b classic, I wouldn't have P220 classic now. Good or bad, beats me... lol

I have small hands (glove size 7 compared to the average size of 7.5). Sig P239 fits well with it's single stack and stock Sig grips. P239 barrel is too short for Canada but the slightly longer barrel of the Sig P239 tac (9mm) is just long enough. Note that the barrel length used by Sig in their literature uses a different measurement method than CFC uses and the P239 tac barrel just squeaks by.

I swapped the grips on my Elite too.
The rosewood grips are nice to look at, but they felt too "fat" and they scratch easily so I swapped them out with some Hogue wrap-around grips with grooves. They were still a bit on the fat side and since I don't have large hands I still had to change my grip on the gun whenever I needed to push the magazine release or the decocker lever. I ended up using the standard P226 plastic grips as they are a lot slimmer than both the Rosewood and the Hogue grip and they give me an overall better grip.

Some people on the SIG forum claimed that you must use shorter grip screws if you use the standard P226 plastic grips on a Elite due to the screws on the Elite being longer, which will cause the screws to stick too far into the magazine well, but I had no issues with the Elite screws going into the magazine well when using the standard P226 plastic grip.
