Sig CQB versus Carbine

It is considered rare because the uppers that made it here weren't originally made for the Canadian market. Prior to this last shipment, there were no carbines available apart from a few LB models floating around.
I was lucky enough to pick up a CQB out of the very first shipment that made it into Canada. Simply love that little gun! Feels oh so solid in your hands. Is extremely well balanced and points beautifully. My current range is limited to 200M. The CQB is plenty accurate out to that range with irons. Stick a magnified optic and it almost gets boring!
I also have the non-restricted Blue Star/Classic Green rifles. Gotta' love the heft and like the CQB, they just feel solid. Great accuracy and my goto Coyote rifle these days! There is essentially no felt recoil with the rifle and it is generally a pleasure to shoot. The CQB can be a little obnoxious is shot from a covered shooting stall or indoors, but then again, that is one of the quirks that is sure to put a smile on your face!
I want the short carbine, but the mad money fund lately has been going to other things. I handled one and I found it pretty well balanced. If they were non-restricted, I probably would've made a more concerted effort to buy one before now. However, since it is limited to the range only, the impetus isn't as great to pick one up right now with the CQB already in the safe.
I think choosing guns is a very personal thing, and you really have to opt for the pair that feel best to you. Since we're talking about true Swiss Arms rifles/carbines, you really can't go wrong either way you look at it!

So I'm guessing you decided to keep the CQB and the Carbine, and sell the Black Special you JUST bought?
What can I say? I am an impulsive gun nut who's fortunate enough to have a little walking-around cash. I am addicted to the dealing. Buy first, think later. I am sure it will be my downfall in the end

Well you know most greens are actually green and black(furniture) so I didn't get what you were calling him out on, jest or not.
Anyway I'm in your camp, I just have two much fun with the cgb to get rid of it, though it hasn't been (i haven't been) to the range in awhile.
But for a range gun, for stuff under 200m, I'd say it puts the biggest smile on my face. I love taking it though IPSC courses.
I at one time owned a Full length SA, the 17" carbine and the 14.3" carbine. I never liked the short barrel and different recoils spring setup on the CQB so I never bought it. I ended up selling the full length Swiss since I basically just shoot at a range anyway.
I do agree that for a restricted carbine an AR-15 would probably be more economical, I prefer my LMT gas piston carbine to the SA due to the fact it's lighter, recoil feels less, and the fact the rails on the CQB/MRP are straight and accept any kind of optic or accessory without the need for cheek piece. My flattop 17" Swiss had a slightly canted rail and the Larue mounts for my ACOG and SPR leupold scope don't really put it at a good height when you consider the Swiss ARms stock.
However, I really love the 14.3" carbine. I put on an Aimpoint M4 (removed the center spacer to lower it on the mount) and it's just fine. Also my LMT barrel is good for about 20K rounds (I bought a spare too) but I recall reading on some testing for Swissarms that their barrels are good for much longer than that.
Also if you have to pummel someone with your butt stock the swissarms is much more rugged than a collapsible stock on an AR15

I highly question your claim of the canted rail on the Swiss Arms Carbine.
I've never ever seen one. The one that I did see that someone calimed was canted in fact was not, they just didn't know any better. Now if you are using the standard Swiss Arms Weapon you need to use the B&T or Swiss Arms accessory rail. If your weapon and rail is clean before installing there should be no cant. Again I've never ever seen a cant with a Swiss Arms or B&T rail. The after market and Canadian made ones have often been canted, not the Swiss made ones.
I have more experience with the Swiss Arms weapons in civillian and military form than most users here, I'm not buying the cant claim.
