so i was thinking, at ATHL matches i dont see alot of other people shooting sigs, maybe one other than me.

just wondering why not? cost prohibitive vs a glock?

High bore axis is thought by many to contribute to greater muzzle rise which may be one reason why you don't see many Sigs in IDPA or IPSC Production. The Sig is known to have a higher bore axis than some of the other more popular guns. The top shooters likely could win using darts and for the mere mortals of the sport, while there are exceptions, guns with lower bore axis leading to less muzzle rise helps.

Beyond that you also have the herd mentality. Top shooter wins with a Glock/S&W/CZ SP01 and away the sales go as we also chase our dreams.

His is a .40 cal. Great piece and smooth to shoot. More jump to his gun than the Tanfoglio in .40cal likely due to the difference in weight and the high bore axis of the Sig.

A good shooter can shoot anything well. Hey Mass, wasn't it a couple of years ago, someone won the IDPA Nationals using a Sig P220 (.45) in CDP? Not bad against guys shooting mostly 1911's.

I shoot a couple of SIG's.

1. P220 in 9mm (using 9 round mags) in SSP

2. GSR in .45 (using 8 round mags) in ESP.

Yes, I know I should be shooting the GSR in CDP but the guy I want to shoot against is using a G35 and I want to beat him. I came close last match, he beat me by just over 9 seconds.

Dam you Steve! Just wait until I get my Para!

MapleLeafPilgrim shoots a 229R and does well. Or does, well, what he does!
