Sig KILO rangefinders

Anyone using one? If so what are your thoughts? Was especially interested in the 2400 with the AB software installed.

Both my self and hunting partner have the 2400 abs they are great but in a side by side test with the G7 that we have as back up notice in times of over cast of mild fog the kilo will not read and the G7 does it flawless. Not sure if there is any software updates that may help change this! So for now we are keeping both range finders handy

I've got the Sig Kilo 2200MR and I love it. Ranged 1432yds in a light snow the other day onto a spruce swamp at the other side, took a few seconds to get a read off the trees but it did it.

I've got a 2200MR as well. Out to 1000-1100 yards it's pretty bang on and quick. Past that, you kind of have to pick what you're ranging. It likes big trees a lot more than say rocks/rock faces. Big trees I can range out to 1400-1500+ yards. Was getting returns on a rather large stump at 1570 the other day. Doesn't do as well on grassy hill and the like though. I believe the 2400 has better ranging performance as well. I'm thinking of getting the 2400BDX as it will pair up with my Kestrel that has AB.

Thanks for the input. Definitely need something capable of raging rocks and somewhat "smaller" items. Sometimes where we hunt big trees are non-existent. We don't get fog much at all but a lot of grey, overcast days especially in mid-late fall, late winter. We shoot out to 1400m and getting further albeit slowly lol.

Is the 2400 with AB worth the extra cash or would the MR series be "just as good?

My 2000 dont work that great in the snow. I can only get around the 700ish out of it. Works great in the summer time though.

The 2400 works great for a compact rangefinder. I have gotten good range hits at over 2300 yards on good surfaces and over 1800 in less desirable circumstances. Best distance i have seen was 2800 yards on the side of the mountain, so less than ideal target with a good read out.

The blue tooth hook up to the phone is a great feature if you want to just point and click the sig then look at you phone and have a firing solution.

Well worth it in my opinion if you are shooting 1500 yards plus on a regular basis and ranging things like trees and rocks.

If you already have a Kestrel with AB you could also get the 2400 BDX instead of the 2400 AB, it's quite a bit cheaper but has the same ranging ability, just no built in AB. It will LINK to your kestrel though.
