Sig Legion

My current stable of Sigs is heavily biased to the Elites, I really like the beavertail feel and, yes, look. I have a P220 Match Stainless Elite, and that takes care of any target shooting I would want to do. A P220 Equinox, and P220 SS Elite, P226 SS Elites in 9mm and .40, P226 E2 Elite in 9mm, and a P229 Dark Elite in 9mm. I also have a 1978 dolphin nose P220 in 9mm with the euro mag release (that I think I may list)....so I don't really have a 'need' either for an X5 or Legion. But that darn Legion is just calling me, and once I get something in my head. I'd already be all over the one at Wild West if it was in 9mm, I tend to shoot them the most just for cost, and I already have a .40 SS Elite. But I may just get it anyway. I'm going to check with irunguns first though and see what they can do about getting the P226 in 9mm for me. I'd almost go for a P229 Legion, but the whole barrel length thing would ruin it for me, I've grudgingly learned to live with it on the Dark Elite but I hate that barrel poking out past the slide, it just looks wrong to me. Anyway, if I get one, I'll post up some pics down the road. I have a feeling it's an itch that isn't going to get an immediate scratch. I can't bring myself to sell a Python to get a Sig. Yet.

Nice collection!

.......sooooo, the Python you may be selling? ;)

It's one of those 'make me an offer I can't refuse' items......haha. Kind of hard to break up the family too. See any you like?

Sweet!
Hey if we are doing family photos:

Now those are really fine too! I've been debating for a few years about my need for a 210, X5/6 as well.....I suspect it may happen yet too. Sigs n Colts n Sigs n Colts and Smiths n Sigs n Colts n Smiths.......haha

I may have to bust out my Sigs and do a family portrait, I don't think I've done one of those yet. Maybe tomorrow.....I can't do the Smiths, as I don't have a wide angle lens either....It's a sickness I have.

I've been at CRAFM last week and they just got a nice p226 Legion... This gun is very nice, love that grey finish and the grips are awesome... If you're lucky enough its still here, give them a call.

Ha. Not having a wide enough angle sounds like an enviable problem to have in that case.

And it is highly contagious sickness. I caught it too. Though judging by that stable of snakes and lens issue wrt the Smiths, your condition may be more advanced, lol.

If I call it 'inventory', it doesn't seem so bad.

Snagged the last .40 at Wild West. Been humming and hawing about a Legion for a while. $160 cheaper than the 9mm at CRAFM, and I've already got a scorpion and an Alround in 9mm. Just hope I can sneak it into the house.

I was looking at that exact one as well on friday , but a 226 sa/da 9mm legion came in at RDSC at same time and i was first in line for it and that was my preference ,so glad we were both able to get one . Congrats.

Good you grabbed it. My finger hovered over the 'add to cart' button on that one for quite a few minutes, but glad I checked local and have that SAO 9mm coming in.

I just picked up a P226 SAO Legion in 9mm today from my LGS (Phoenix Range & Gun Store, Edmonton). We've been waiting on a big SIG shipment for a couple of months that just arrived yesterday. It is nice, very nice. The trigger rivals my STI 1911A1 Tactical Single-Stack. Extremely crisp with a super short reset. The new sights are awesome as well - the foresight really jumps out at you. All in all, an extremely nice pistol that is well worth the wait for one. Best of luck to those still looking!

Check out SigTalk forum. There are multiple quality control issues on some Legions.

Got mine yesterday, (thanks to Wild West for their fast service!). If I was anal, about the finish, I might be less than happy as there is a bit of shine in a couple of spots on the rails. Also, the front and back of the mag well is bare where I assume the holding jig covered up during application. Overall, I'd say its finish is on par with the scorpion 226 I picked up a couple of years back, with a slightly better trigger. Have not got to the range with it yet. If I had to choose between the Legion and an Elite in SS, I'd take the Elite every time.

I can't comment on the intermediate trigger job but MD Charlton can perform the same work as the Sig custom shop. I sent my X Five AR in Exeter NH for the action package and short trigger and when it came back, it was amazing. The reset was half the stock SRT. Compared to the Sig Legion, it's pretty much the same. I'd contact MD Charlton for some information. I'm sure they can help you.

Interesting report, and thank you. I will have a very close look at the SAO that I have a hold on. I'm not committed to buying it (I was told he could make any of three phone calls and it would be gone, but I have first shot)....I will give it a very close look. I've been extremely happy with my Sig Elites, so if the Legion isn't a noticeable step up I'm not going to fork over that kind of cash, I'll wait for a nice X5 or P210 to come along.
