Sig M17 to be released to the public

Yup but it isn't a range gun. Right now it sports an optic Vortex and I really want to be able to shoot in well in IDPA. Right now it is a work in progress.

I guess it just seems like an odd toss up to me because of how completely different the 2 guns are.

Yes it is. You should be able to order one through your local SIG dealer.

Well they are in the same family with the same basic platform. I do like the M17 with the manual safety would be a great gun for IDPA SSP Division as is the XFive. I may just go with the Xfive and then wait for Turdo to decide what he wants to do.

My honest opinion of the 320 platform is to get into it as cheaply as possible and replace parts as necessary.

Just bought an unfired X5 off a gunnuter. The gun will come with five mags, one additional. RKM456 your point was well taken. I just got to good a deal on this purchase. In time I likely will play tinker toy with the gun. It truly is modular. I wish SIG made a 4.25" barreled option in their list of variants.

I still don;t have a polymer range toy in 9MM. LOL Ah well there is always Christmas.

If you got a good deal there's value in the X5. It's when you're paying full retail that you quickly realize that the X5 doesn't have the extra parts in it to justify it costing twice what a standard 320 does.
