The Sigs mag are crap. I broke one of those plastic baseplate this week-end during a reload. I dropped the mag on the floor.
Many times the mag requires a strong tap to sit well when full of ammo.

Any one know a seller for only the base plate ?

I disagree that the sig mags are crap. My 8 and 10 rounders are all excellent and have worked flawlessly. You do have to seat them firmly when full to capacity, but most mags require a firm mag placement. It should be routine.

As for dropping the mags, that is a problem with the user not the mag.

I do not. But Questar may be able to help you as they tend to have a chunk of Sig stuff, the EE may work, or something like brownells. As the part is small and low value, under 100 you may have some luck.

Yeah dude, don't you know that pistol shooting should be done seated at a bench and you should carefully remove your mags and lay them on a padded surface.:jerkit:

Empty mags go on the ground. Get used to the idea that your mags will break from rough use. Can be a little frustrating though, I've broken the base plates or the mag body lips on 3 pistol mags in a day before....oh well, still cheaper than the ammo.

You can try ordering it from Numrich. Just keep in mind the, whatever it is, $25 (I believe) export fee they have now. What is your mag? P226 9mm 10-round? They have it. $11.60 each:

Brownells will not ship SIG parts to Canada (unless something has drastically changed since last Fall, which I don't believe it has. They canceled 3 orders on me toward the end of last year... after having previously sent me lots of stuff under the $100 limit).

Your other option would be to try and get a Canadian retailer to order some from the distributor, or from the U.S. or Europe, for you. This is a major hassle, but it is one way of doing things that can work. This is how I got some extended baseplates for P2000 mags (after having about 5 different U.S.-based online sellers cancel my order on me).

To state the obvious, gun parts are not easy to get in this country.

There are all-steel mags around. I think the 15 rounders are all steel or osmething, you'd need to have them pinned and brought in.

I've seen some people cut out foam and glue it to the bottom of mags that break, might be a temporary solution until you can find some all-steel mags.

My mistake. I don't shoot IPSC yet. I forgot about that. I just go to the range and am careful with my gear.

Now that I think about it, I see you're point. My 10 rnd mags do have rather large plastic bits on the end If they can't take being dropped, repeatedly than I guess SIG isn't interested in IPSC. Maybe the wrong gun for the sport?

Lots of guns have plastic chunks on their mags these days. I try to get all metal mags but it can be hard. Took me 4 years to find replacement base plates for my USP mags. Just another part of the fun!
