I bought my Mosquito new at P&D in Edmonton for $550.
The pistol came with a bridge mount, red dot sight, 2 mags, and a baggie of parts.
The first couple of mags through it were a little touch and go. But after a short break in period I was very happy with the accuracy and reliability of the pistol. It is definately NOT a jamomatic.
Then I threw the red dot on and found it rubbed on the sides of the slide and actuallt stopped the empties from even being extracted.
But in time this too cleared up. Every .22 I have ever had was always finicky or the first brick or two.
By the end of the day I could hit clays laying in the sand at 50m with the iron sights (They are actually plastic, but whatever) and shoot 5 inch groups from 25m.
I never shot for groups with the red dot on, but it seems to do just fine. I laid out 11 clays in a area about 6 feet wide and shot all 11 with 11 rounds and then had fun shooting the bits left over with my remaining 9 rounds. I was impressed and my wife was mad because I really womped her performance with her CZ 75.
My only complaints are that I cant find any extra magazines for it and that the threaded barrel begs for a loudener (fake suppressor) which I also have no idea where to find.
I used PMC Zapper, AE 40gr solids, and federal 36gr HP all with equall success. (all high velocity ammo)
I mentioned a baggie of parts that comes with the gun earlier.
There is a spare main spring in there. The gun comes with one spring for high speed ammo and a light one for "utility ammo". Being that the gun is largely made of plastic I chose to go with the heavy spring.
It also comes with a high front sight which you can swap for the low one to zero your gun.
Last thing from the baggy I will mention is a special litle key that locks the hammer. You insert the key in the butt of the grip, press and turn and the hammer is blocked from cocking. This gun has every safety feature I can think of. It also has a firing pin block, a decocker, a magazine safety, and a manual applied safety mounted to the slide.
It is a great gun. I am very happy I picked it up And the Price is a steal becuase if you go to the sigarms website the MSRP is $499 USD and that DOES NOT come with the red dot and mount. They sell seperately for $150 USD. So I got a new sig for $550 and it came with a hocke sock full of extras.
I was even happier when I went to clean it after firing two brick through her and found that it was incredibaly easy to clean. The barrel is fixed to the frame. The slide comes off to the front and you have the breech face to clean on the slide, the feed ramp and barrel on the frame, and then a quick wipe here and there and its done. I dont think I have ever owned a gun with a fixed barrel before so this is quite a treat. Seems like this system of operation makes for a fairly clean gun. If I had fired two bicks through my 10/22 the clean up would have been much more substantial.
So I have rambled long enough. Buy your mosquito while you can, the rock.
