Sig Mosquito Report

I had more problems with the Wildcat than the other two. For some reason, the pistol would not properly feed after I fire the first round in Double Action mode. The empty casing is ejected but the chamber remains empty. I suspect that the slide was pushed far enough to eject the case, #### the gun but not far enough to pick up the next rounds. I had no such problems when fire in Single Action mode. I must add that this problem occurs about 20% of the time and that I was using the Heavy/Short recoil spring. When switched to the Light/Longer recoil spring, everything is back to normal.
I've had some similar issues one-in-awhile when using cheap ammo. I've actually had a situation where I am firing the gun in SA mode, and then it ejects a casing but doesn't load the next round and somehow gets into DA on an empty chamber

I think what is happening there is just a fail to feed, and I am rapid firing the gun, so I pull the trigger and by the time I notice that it has "clicked" instead of fired, the gun is in DA mode. So I pull the slide back manually and low-and-behold there is nothing in the chamber.

Mosquito bashers take note though, this has not been a common problem for me. I believe it has only happened twice in about 5,000 to 6,000 rounds. It is all about the ammo anyway. I have never had a single problem with this gun when using Mini-Mags or the Federal Game Shoks (which are the same thing). I like to shoot a lot of rapid fire cheap .22LR ammo though, so I am always trying new types of ammo when I can find them. If I need the gun to work flawlessly I've always got some Mini-Mags or Game Shoks around.

i'm still really happy with mine.i feed it only mini mags[36 grain copper jacket ]now and its flawless.i,ve loaded 4 mags at a time and very quickly put it all down range a few times without an issue.

have had success with wildcats, but still has not proven to be as reliable as the mini mags.the mini mags work flawlessly.

doesn't matter what anyone thinks of this gun now, i love shooting it.

Update:

I have gone through almost an entire brick of Remington Thunderbolts and they have performed flawlessly. An awesome development considering a brick of these will only set you back $20.00!

I also tried using them with the heavier recoil spring and still had ZERO problems. The gun cycled perfectly and the heavier spring reduced the muzzle flip and felt recoil.

Shot a club members Sig Mosquito on Sunday. Sweet little .22
He was shooting some premium 22lr loads and I had a brick of Thunderbolts.
I suggested we try them and we had no issues whatsoever with the Thunderbolts. Not bad for under $15 for 500 rounds.
