Just got my Sig Mosquito and off to the range i went......Shot high with the factory installed sights..Installed the highest provided sight(it came with 2 additional sights,a different slide spring and a barrel wrench).and it worked like a charm.....HOWEVER......it would not feed or eject the first 3 rounds in the 10 round mags.Tried all the mags.I had to manually eject them...If the mag was loaded to 7 rounds it worked fine!! Tight and new i guess? Anyone else experience this problem...??..but :)...
All in all a fine little pistol that was a pleasure to shoot after one gets over the terrible trigger pull(Tight and new??!!)

Wish I could shoot mine.:(

I bought one from P&D in Alberta and the day I received it I field stripped it to clean and lube and noticed that the fring pin was broken. Called P&D and they said to call FN SPorts and send it to them. When I asked for a new pistol from their stock in exchange I was told it was too much paper work for them so I had to send it to FN. That was in July. I still don't have it back and I call every week. That will be the last time I buy from them and I spread the word around our 1200 member club about the quality of customer service from P&D as well as FN SPorts. They both may be good in some respects but don't ever try and get a pistol returned or fixed from these people.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread. Glad your works. I would be interested in how it functions after you have broken it in.

BTW, what ammo were you using and did you change the recoil spring to the lighter one?

Sig mosquitos are not the most reliable pistols. Sigforum has lots of discussion about them. Use CCI minimags...they were designed around this round. Expect jams with this gun. I am not done breaking mine in yet but FTF and FTE did go down after about 300 rounds.

Still it is a trainer that feels/looks like a real sig. The slide is made of zinc. I'll post after I fire another 700 rounds. That should break it in and I'll check its reliability.

Use CCI mini-mags for the first 500-1000 rounds. After it's broken in, people have reported they can switch to just about any brand of ammo, but I stuck to using the mini-mags since they worked so well.

I do still get the odd FTF (1 out of 100?), but since my life isn't depending on this pistol I don't lose sleep over it. Maybe it takes 10,000 rounds to fully break these little beasties in?

My Mosquito has worked well right out of the box: no feeding nor ejecting problems at all. All 10 rounds go bang 100% of the time. Both me and my wife (it's her gun) load the magazines, and it always works.

Before we bought the Mosquito I read many bad reviews about it, and they made me nervous. But strangely no failures have happened even once.

So far we are using CCI Mini Mags only.

Mine suxed...FTE/FTF all the time with every kind of ammo. The springs are crap INHO. Then the safety lever hex screw fell off, after I investigated further it appears something seared of in the slide rendering it impotent.

It is a good looking rim-fire but I won't be buying another. The ghey barrel extention is a piss off too!

Mine is enroute to the fine folks at Wolverine Supplies for replacement.

I truly hope your's is much better than mine was.

My has the same problems as pitdogboy's. POS pistol in my experiance. Out of 1300 or so rounds I think I have gotten through a full mag only a few times without some sort of jam.

I have run every ammo except mini mags. I'll have to give them a shot, even Stingers did not work... I have tried every combination of ammo and spring I could think of, the gun just always jams for the first 4 rounds in a mag, even when only 4 rounds are loaded! Quite mystifying...

The only ammo that hasn't worked in my kids' mosquito is some cheap Winchester crap from Wallys world, as well as the subsonic moderators. Mind you I never tried the other spring for these rounds. other than that I think we have well over a thousand rounds through without any problems other than the ones mentioned.

Meh, mine is Ok for a budget pistol. When it was new it used to suffer from a few FTEs when cold. Overall it has been a fairly reliable pistol. The screws at the safety as well as the barrel/takedown lever screws did back off on mine, but a drop of locktite solved that. One huge issue is the fact that it stopped firing double action at about 2700 rnds. Not that it matters because the double action trigger pull is measured in tons. I have not attemped to make good on the warranty because I know FN Sports reputation for ####ty service.

I heard that too...I sent mine back and pretty much never expect to see it again:( Meh...better than sitting broken in the safe.

Only had mine out once so far. Shot Remington Golden Bullets through it and one jam out of several hundred shots. I have a couple of new mags now too so when I get to a range I will see how all four perform. They are all Sig mags anyway so I doubt there will be much difference.

Local gun club seems sluggish on promoting new members. Might be another year before I get to go back for the second orientation shoot. Guess I will go back to the old club seeing the snow is flying and they meet once a week.

took mine out today and so did my freind.the only reliable ammo we found was the mini mags and stingers.this was the first range outing with these pistols so we were really wanting to put a few hundred rounds trhrough them to work in.we both were using the lighter white spring and still found that most ammo wouldn't cycle reliably.myself,my pistol was failing to chamber a new round and thus i ended up dry firing it a few times.i had problems with extraction as well as the slide returning to battery[i beleive these are related to the same thing, the slide not coming home 100%.mini mags worked great so far as well as stingers,[the only ones that would function reliably with the weaker white spring.

i still like this pistol as it holsters well and feels good in my hands. i found mine to group well at 15m and still place well at 25m.at 15m i was able to shoot 10 into the black on my 22 targets with a rest. i also shot my blackpowder hawken offhand at 50m today so i fired a couple mags of 22 at it as well offhand.once i had the point of aim down i was able to consistantly place shots in the scoring rings with it.

it reallyt seems to be a wide spread of concencous on this pistol,i hope i've got a good one.going to stay with mini mags for a while and see.

one thing i did notice was that the chamber had to be clean in order to consistently chamber standard velocity rounds. i'd be curious to hear any response to this.i beleive the recoil springs are a big part of this.

Well..Today was day two with the Mosquito.....Tried Federal Game Shok,Eley Practice,Federal EXPert..Loaded up 10 rounds each and..Squeeze trigger,bang..rack slide manually until the 7th round..The only round that worked ok from start to finish was .22 Thunderbolt .I even tried changing the springs, but nothing different happened..My last attempt will be the Winchester brand. If that dosen't work..... Gun for sale? or i'll be in contact with the importer/distributor...
Also mounted the Bridge Mount with Bushnell Trophy red-dot.The entire assembly seemed very flexible and flimsy ...but it didn't affect the gun's accuracy any..It still shoots well and is accurate enough..
It will never be put on again though...:(
