I saw those and let my wife know I'm buying one.....

didn't let her know what the price was :)

now pistol or carbine :)

bet the RCMP decided the mags are duel use and require all to be pinned to 5

I think so too, just like how the 10/22 mags were deemed duel use these sig mags will be pinned to 5
 
That's very disappointing news about the mags--it significantly reduces my interest. The smaller a calibre is, the less I'm OK with a 5-round mag. 12 gauge or .308? Yeah, I can live with that, but anything smaller is just too much work to shoot. I'll stick with my Diablo for now.
 
Very cool. Not sure if I'm in - will definitely depend on the price. The mag capacity will also affect my decision. Too bad they didn't design this as a side-charging firearm! Like everyone else I'm familiar with the AR controls, but I've always preferred side charging...

And who decided that abortion keylock crap should go on there? If I wanted metal racking I'd buy metal racking.

MDC mentioned very distant plans to get non restricted ones, they never said if Sig will make the barrels, or aftermarket.

My understanding is current available version are pistol variants, and changing barrel won't change classification
 
Carbine version will eventually have a NR version. But if you get a pistol version then its always restricted. If the RCMP decides the mags are duel use and pinned to 5 , I don't see any advantage to getting a pistol version. Just stick a really short barrel on your carbine. And have a 18.5 barrel for it when you want a NR carbine.



Or have a second 'pistol lenght' upper
 
I'm interested once we learn what direction we're actually going to go on the magazines. I know that the RCMP have indicated that the mags are "dual use," an invented category, and are limited to 5 rounds for either the "pistol" or "rifle" version of the MPX, but I'm going to continue to hold my breath. I would really like one. Shame they went with Keymod on the handguard, though - MLOK is where it's at.
