I am currently waiting to hear from the forces to see if I was accepted. I figure that depending on the outcome, I treat myself. If I am accepted, I will treat myself to a Lee Enfield and a Pistol. If I am rejected, Its just the rifle. I can get a New 92FS from wolverine for around $750 and they have certified pre-owned P226's for around $850. My question is, how are your experiences with these two pistols? I have handled a 90-TWO at wholesale sports and it was not bad, but I have heard the 92FS and the 90-TWO have different grips. I have below average sized hands so that might play into things. Thanks. ( If this thread seems pointless, take note that i am really board so i figured might as well ask a question on CGN)

I've personally handled both the 92FS and the 90-Two. Personally, I liked the 92FS ALOT more. Seems to be built much stronger. Feels less like plastic. I mean Glocks are made of plastic but the 90-Two feels like cheap plastic. I would get the 92FS anyday before the 90-two
Personally, I much prefer the Sig P226. It’s a great feeling gun, with a great trigger, great balance, and excellent fir and finish. To be fair, Beretta’s fit and finish is also top-rate, but everything else about the gun just feels weird, from its larger-than-necessary size (it’s a 9mm after all), to its open slide and falling block lockup (design characteristics that have been long abandoned by all other major gunmakers) and long SA trigger pull.
Beretta 92 seems to be one of those guns that you either love or hate. I wouldn’t recommend buying it without trying it first.

+1! There is no comparison. Less muzzle flip, smaller in the grip, better trigger and built like a tank. Much more useful for playing the games. CZ is by far the better choice IMHO.

I have a 92f and I like it. It eats any kind of crap ammo out there and never jams. It also has a nice trigger location for me. My only complaint is that the sights suck, but mine is older and the newer ones come with much nicer sights. I've played around with a 226, but haven't fired one....the Beretta fit me better. Can't really argue with Merllin though......

But if I had to choose, I like the 92FS just a bit more. It fits my hand a bit better, and I like the trigger pull. I shoot better with it.
I like the sights on my Sig. And I like the decocking mechinism better.
I think you should go out and try each one at a range. They are both different (duh).
Either way I think you'll be happy.

I had a Beretta 92F and I've shot a couple CZs. I preferred the Beretta hands down. More controlable, easier to stay on target, and it fit my hand like God poured the pistol into it himself. That said, I got big hands and I like a meaty grip. I haven't fired a Sig226, but I've shot the 229, and I liked it. Small and snappy, but a great shooter. Honestly, find a couple friends or fellow nuts that have one of each and buy them a beer.
Well I have held the CZ 75b at our local pawn shop. If I recall, I was not impressed with it. But I will have another look see when I have a chance. So far I am beginning to lean towards a CPO P226, But the Beretta still has a hold and is pulling me back.
