Can anyone help me out.

I need some advice as to whats a better buy. a 45 usp Hk or a Sig P226 40?
is there one model thats better than the other? what are the advances of either?

let me know if you have one and what you like about it

thanks

jon

Those are the 2 I would choose between. :D
But I think Im leaning more towards the HK.
If your looking to save money and still get a good gun, I noticed Glocks are cheaper than those 2 brands.

Shoot them both, somehow. Find what you like and what works for you. That said, I really enjoy my P226R .40. Fits like a glove. And personally, I dont believe that there is a more reliable factory-made firearm than the Sigs.

both reliable firearms. I like the different variants option with the HK USP series of pistols.

As much as I like the sig, I would buy the USP. It just feels better to me, but that is just me. Shoot them both and you'll be able to decide for yourself.

HK's Hostile Environment finish is much more durable than SIG's Nitron. HKs are also a lot more corrosion resistant (all of the internals are coated with some a special material developed by Dow Corning). HKs are still made in Germany, while SIGs are partially (and in some cases completely) manufactured in the U.S. The USP has a dual spring recoil reduction system that is actually quite effective in terms reducing felt recoil and stress on internal components.

SIG has a better trigger (unless you get one of the USP models that comes with a Match trigger) and has the advantage of interchangeable grips. It is also a more traditional all-metal gun, which some people prefer.

If you want a .45, I would get a Sig p220 . HK are nice but you definatly want to feel one first as I think they feel quite different.
Sigs have really good features like, No safeties but still safer than a Glock and quicker than a HK, a de-cocker, comes appart like butter for cleaning, nicely made and lots of accesories and support.
You really can`t go wrong wiht either but ....... eh SIG are sweet :)

Could you explain to me how the Sig is safer than a Glock:confused:

Sure, the Glock`s trigger is more likely to go off if depressed accidently when you unholster it than a Sig because of the double action first shot of the SIG.
I heard of lots more reports of Officer`s shooting themselves or someone they weren`t intending to shoot with Glock`s.

Perhaps people should keep their finger off the trigger until the sights are on target. Sorry, this is going off topic.

I would go with the the USP has a nicer feel to it I find they both shoot great but I like the way that the USP is also made for the uncommon left handed shooter!

I have used both, and for myself I guess grip size was a factor, although after handling both I found the SIG to fit my hand quite well for a single stack. I did however change out the grips to the finger grooves.Everyones knows how I feel about HK's, the SIG is probably cheaper. Either way they are two excellent pistols. Buy both. The controls on the SIG weren't a big issue for me, and since I am a lefty, that is a good thing to think about.

Hmm, it seems we have another gunnut with good taste in firearms. When choosing a pistol my final choice came down to the P220 and the USP both in .45. I chose the P220 because in my opinion, SIG has the most solid reputation when it comes to building firearms and I liked the way it felt in my hand. Not only that but my friend and I both agreed that we could shoot better with the P220 than with the USP. It was probably that particular HK though, I guess I'm going to have to buy a USP to be sure now...damn you for bringing this to my attention!
