I am waiting the arrival of a Sig P210 which I have just purchased. I have just read an article which says, "The standard barrel twist rate of the P210 is too fast to stabilize lead bullets." Can anyone tell me if this is true, as I only shoot lead bullets with my M&P & my Springfield XD..thanks for any guidance

The Sig 210 barrels twist rate is 1- 10 the same as my CZ's. The latter performs extremely well with my cast 124 gr and 154 gr lead bullets. There is no reason why the 210 barrels won't work well with lead bullets.

my dillion press is nicely set up for 124gr lead bullets & my gun club's indoor range does not permit use of jacked bullets...thanks dave for the advice

I bought a lone wolf barrel just to shoot lead

I use 3.7 grains of WST and a cast 125 TN grain Lee bullet. My 210 like,s them just fine. I size the bullet.s .357 Dim.

SIG actually made a P210 barrel specifically designed to shoot lead... I've seen alot of exotic and rare things in my searches, but never one of these elusive barrels.

I've never found 9mm in lead to be that accurate anyways to be honest.

I tried lead bullets some years back in a Walther P-38. I tried to achieve velocities like those I got with jacketed bullets, and got a severe case of leaded barrel. Took forever to get the lead out. A more experienced reloader said the thing to do is to use gas checks on the bullet bases. I just gave up and went back to jacketed bullets.

You can drive cast bullets up to around 1200 fps depending on calibre with no srious leading problems. What little leading you do get is easily removed with strands of 100% Copper Chor Boy wrapped around an old cleaning brush. Takes about 30 seconds. Nobody I know of uses gas checks for 9MM bullets up to 1200 fps.

I shouldn't ask this but did you lube your bullets and if so what lube did you use?
