SIG P210 Legend Target -FINALLY!!

Got it, I got it, Yah!!!

I picked up the gun today and so far it beats all my expectations. The fit and finish inside and out is better than I have ever seen and that includes my custom 1911.

I want to take good pictures and of course shoot the gun but that will take a day or two. Tomorrow given good lighting will be photography time when I will try to do justice to this handgun. Then it will be back to Silverdale to make some holes, followed by what I hope is a report worth reading.

My thanks to Seth and Sara of Lantz for baby sitting my order.

It's been a happy day for this kid.

I like the ransom rest idea!

Please include your x-5 in that test too! (For my own interest)

I can't imagine a gun much tighter and cleaner than one of the stainless x-5's.

I'm not sure if I can locate and use a "ransom rest" at either of my two clubs but I will ask at Waterford where it is more likely because they have a Bullseye group there whereas Silverdale does not. We would also have to get the mounting hardware for each of the guns.

I have never objectively tested my X-Five but Bruce gray's work is about the best available and he tuned and modified that gun. In any case, when I compare my three high-end guns, the P-210 appears to be the best fitted. My NHC 1911 has a 1 inch guarantee at 25 yards and as I recall, my X-Five was close to that "out of the box".

My test target for the P-210 appears to be around 1.25 inches at 25 yards but I'm not sure how that is done. A fifty yard test may be difficult to set up and ideally it would be indoors. I'm sure something done carefully at 25 yards would do. My X-five is a forty and so that would have to be acceptable and ammo would have to be consistent for the two 9mm's. It's starting to sound like too much work :)

A full test would be fun if we can locate the hardware and a person that is experienced in using it.
 
Well thanks for the comments on the accuracy of the X-5 anyway. I really like mine. Did you send it down to Gray or buy it already done?

I had hoped to be able to set up for good pictures but life keeps getting in the way. I shot these with flash yesterday but will do better and may attach the next efforts to my range report is I can ever get there. The more I look at this gun the happier I am. In terms of fit and finish it is second to none including my Custom 1911 at twice the price.

I spend winters in the US and sent it to Gray while I was there. I don't think he does cross-border work and is always busy.

I got his full X-Five package done which includes some frame mods that disqualify you from IPSC Production if that means anything to you.

Look at the frame and you will see how the dust cover is lightened. The trigger guard hook is gone and the beavertail is narrowed. There may have been other metal removed inside the frame but I'm not sure where. Both triggers are awesome good :).

I won't promise when but I am planning another photo session. I need to set a few things up and like to shoot in day light with selected props. I'll take some shots inside the frame and slide then.

I see that your safety extensions don't fit the Legends. Do you have plans for the Legend as I could be interested. I haven't shot the pistol yet but have concerns over using the safety control at speed when shooting IPSC. I'm going to try some technique changes and see if practice will overcome my clumsiness.

Here on CGN I never had enough interest to go for another run of these SLEs.
Last batch was almost entirely sold down to US shooters. Some of them ended up on active service guns. In Europe, they been used for decades on firing lines as they allows you to engage safety while you still pointing down the range instead using two hands and possibly breaking 90.
