Does anyone know if the new SIG P220 .45 DAK is allowed? It one several new homeland security contracts, and only the H&K and the Sig made it through testing. I'd like to buy one but wonder if

1) It's legal for IPSC production class, and

2) Is the 7 pound trigger going to be light enough to make this gun competitive in the accuracy department.

It may be the toughest around but if it can't shoot well in IPSC then it might not be worth considering. I want to get a .45 that I can grow into the sport with. I have yet to even take the black badge course and just recently got registered and joined a club.

Thanks!

I think 5 pound is the minimum, or 5.5lbs ? so you will be fine with 7lbs.
ANy HK is available with the LEM DAO system that the Homeland Security contract was awarded. I have one and the first shot is very good. At around 6 lbs it is very easy to press. the follow up shots are different, as you always can let the trigger out all the way, or just enough to reset the trigger. Almost like you are firing is SA mode, but the trigger can go out to a long DA distance if you allow it.

According to the list the 220 is on it, but it also shows 226 R DAK.
