Sig p220

^^^++

As mentioned above, Murdoc from Arma-coat has some of the last completely German made Sig P220's on order, and they will be coming in very soon (1-2 weeks I'm guessing). In his last posts he mentioned he had 1-2 guns in the order not spoken for.
I am also on the purchase list.
$839.00 for a fully German made Sig is a great deal.
$839.00 for a US made gun would even be a great price. In the past, if you wanted a fully German made Sig pistol you would be looking at paying $1500-1600.00!
Also, this group of P220's will be the last German made P220's, as from now on they will be completely made in the US.
If you are looking for a great P220 and have some spare $$$$, jump on one of these.
I did, and so did a couple of my gun nut buddies!!!

Quoting Murdoc:

"THE GERMAN SIG P220's have left germany on the 4th of June. These will be in very very soon. I do have a very limited amount left available so please let me know." June 10.

May 25 "Down to 2 P220's left on the order. Should see them mid june according to the distributors time table."

So I'm assuming there is 1 or 2, could be cancellations as well? I'd hop on it fast if you want it.

"Also, this group of P220's will be the last German made P220's, as from now on they will be completely made in the US"

I'm not sure where you got this information but it is completely false. Sig is still producing the 220 in Germany and also still produces the 220 in .45 and 9mm. There are four "stock" models listed in their catalogue and many non-stock variations are availiable. Check out Sigforum for photos and a description of a recent tour of the German Sig factory and a discussion about what models are being imported into the US.
You will be surprised at all the models being produced even brand new 228's which they still do runs of.

Nevertheless, $839 for a German made Sig220 is a pretty good deal. I wasn't really looking, but a few months ago when I stumbled upon it, I had to pull the trigger. Hope it gets here soon.

I do like the "no rail" look as well.

I am familiar with the Sig models produced in Germany and their US plant.

My comment was based on what I was told by Barrett at Arma-coat, plus a post he made in his thread. As you have made this statement, I think I'll doing a bit more research on what I was told, but Barrett said this info. came straight from R. Nicholls.

*EDIT*

Hey kxc223 - RE: "I'm not sure where you got this information but it is completely false."

Sorry, I'm not sure where you obtained your information, but your above statement is "completely false"!!!
As I mentioned in this post, I thought I would do some more research.
So, I called R. Nichols (Canadian importer of Sig, HK, etc.) and spoke with a representative.
He confirmed that this will be the last group of P220's made in Germany! Rep. said he also posted on Arma-coat's P220 sale thread to clarify this very issue.

Here - http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showthread.php?t=738476 Read post #7 from WestIslandRifle, he is the R. Nichols rep. I spoke to this afternoon.

"I am looking forward to seeing my two pistols as well. But I think these 2 will just get stuffed in the back of the safe and kept unfired for collector value since they are the last to be made in germany".

ARMA-COAT FIREARM FINISHES

When I ordered my P220 from Barrett he told me that the plant where the P220 is being made is being closed and some of the tooling will be sent to the US plant. He added that production of the P220 will become 100% US made once this happens.
He also told me that this group of P220's is part of the last production run in Germany. This is similar to what happened to the P226!

Saying that, I know you can still purchase 100% P226's from Sig Germany (X-Five & X-Six). Based on what I was told, perhaps the same thing is going to happen to the P220, production guns are made in the US, the higher end P220 guns will still be made in Germany?!

Either way, a 100% German manufactured/assembled P220 for $839.00 is a smoking deal.
I priced out importing a German made P226 a couple of years ago and I was quoted $1600-1700.00! Then last year I stumbled across a similar deal as Arma-coat's P220's, for 100% made Sig 226's from Calgary Shooting Center, from which I bought one.

p220 from germany

Guys, there have been a few questions about these pistols. So here is some clarification.

Please note

1) This is a traditional P220 without rail
2) It is supplied with 7 rd magazines
3) There will be a marking on the other side of the slide that says Sigarms Exeter – This does NOT mean this gun is made or assembled in the USA, that marking exists because the slides that are made in Germany are sent to Sig USA for assembling the US built P220.
4) The guns is completely built and assembled in Germany with German parts.
5) The gun will have German proof marks
6) These will be the last P220’s made in Germany with German parts – production is being moved to the USA.

Regards,

P220's are already being made in the US. The German plant continues to build 226's 229's and 220's and many other models. I'm not sure why a Nichols rep is spreading this rumour but I would certainly take anything a "rep" says with a grain of salt.
But don't take my word for it, a quick check of the German site will contradict this statement. As I mentioned above check out Sigforum for the thread about a members recent tour of the actual factory with photos and quotes direct from the factory.

From what I understand, the base model P220's will not be made in Germany. These are the last (According to the reps).

Whether this is true or not, it's a great price on a German made P220.

Believe Nichols reps, guys on the Sig Forum... your next door neighbour- does it matter that much?

He said a couple days ago that he had 3 cancellations... not sure how many are left. Check the thread and PM Murdoc if you want them. They are IN CANADA now with the supplier. Very shortly they will be shipped out. Can't wait for my German P220 45acp!

Just trying to spread the word to the shooting community, as I think this is a great deal that may never happen again. Don't think you'll lose any money on them if you decide to sell later...

Sorry I had to cancel but this kinda fell into my lap.

1994 German, nickel slide, .45ACP P220 came in its original box.

I'm sure someone was glad when you canceled because they were all sold. Nice pistol, I like to purchase new pistols, however. There doesn't seem to be much savings in buying a used pistol, maybe the taxes and a few percent.

It's likely not that he was looking to buy a used pistol and get a deal. That's a nickel W.German P220 . You don't see those often, I'd drop my spot in line for that in a heartbeat (well actually I'd try to find a way to make both happen first ;) ). Total collectors item/shooter there, nice find R005t3r.

PS: If you care R005t3r and were the one who tried to obscure the serial the end of it is visible on the slide. Just FYI.
