YIPPEE! I actually made a decision.

I went to P&D and bought the one they had there that I have been ogling for awhile now. :) Thanks to all of you who helped convince me to go for what I really wanted. What a great support group we have here.

I'll post picture once I get it home. - Jeff.

Congrats Jeff!

the Taurus 1911? Where did you buy it from? Blued or Stainless? I've been watching them since they came out a couple of years ago in the US, Stainless models looks pretty good...:)

All they had was a blue (black) one, at wholesalesports. It came yesterday.
Very imprested, nice trigger, well made, nice checkering.
They said a SS one is comming, I coudn't wait, read all the write ups.
Not dissapointed at all.

Thanks Jeff--You too, have a happy days with your new one. My Browning BDA45 looks like your 9mm but mine looks new even after 35yrs

I'm sorry can't post anything, I cansend email pic's. We don't have phone lines out of here, an our internet is run out of the high school. It's a small valley on the west coast, 300 miles from the highway.I carry every day when I walk my dogs, wolves an big cats are always around, when it warms up there's big bears too. Geordi

Let me chime in and congratulate you as well. :D I have an early P220 with heel release that I bought over 20 years ago. It's a keeper!! This particular pistol is extremely accurate and reliable. I've never had an issue with it in the time I've owned it. My pistol is as it came other than the Hogue stocks and hex screws. For the past few years I've been looking for a stainless P220 without the rail. I've been told that they exist but, for me, they seem to be the Holy Grail of Sig's because I just can't seem to locate one. Here's a photo of my P220. The markings indicate it was made in 1984. I'm sure that it will look alot like Geordi's BDA.

My experience with hogue wood grip panels is that they look a lot better than they feel. They make Sig's already thicker than average grip considerably more bulky. Unless you have massive gorilla hands, stay away.

I had a Browning BDA back in the day that looked just like that. Nice gun, good for the range in the winter because I could get my gloved finger in the trigger guard without it going bang unintentionally. Traded it for something, i forget what, probably should have kept it, worked extremely well. - dan

I doubt Sig's (factory) wood grips are any smaller...

My hands fit size 10 gloves and the Hogues do well by me. I had a 9mm P220 with the button magazine release that sported a set of rubber finger-grooved Hogues which were comfortable enough but they 'just didn't do it'. YMMV.

Mercury0_0, uh....thanks. I wasn't gunning for a Pulitzer when I shot that photo. ;)
