SIG P226 .22lr Conversion Mag Follower

Thanks for the input. I may just drop my prices by the exchange rate and only accept (FRAUD ALERT)/USD.

Yeah but if a guy follows the link posted to a product he wants, (posted by you) puts it in the cart and purchases it, the warning on your homepage isn't really effective.
I didn't say you're trying to jack anybody. I'm just saying your current set up isn't the friendliest. Great products will still sell. Maybe you could have a discount code to drop the American price down for canadian customers if you can't get (FRAUD ALERT) to accept CDN.
EMT is fine but it requires a lot more work, plus a fee to send it.
Just sayin.

What kind of lifespan does the plastic have in this application?

The plastic is softer than the aluminum slide, but harder than the plastic the magazines are made out of. The impact of the slide closing on the follower is not enough to cause any significant wear on the follower based on my limited testing.

Do you think it will deform or wear the factory mag in any way from the slide impact?

Not any more so than the SigPower followers would. I've rounded off most of the sharp edges that were present in the SigPower design, and these followers are made of a softer material.

I would think the SigPower aluminum follower jamming into the aluminum slide, in the very spot that needs to be undamaged to strip ammo from the mag, would be a bigger issue than the slide being held open like it should be.

I have no discernable wear on my slide from the GS mags tripping the slide lock. Mind you, I slingshot the 22 slide vs forcing down the slide lock lever. I suspect thet's why there is no wear. That and I don't shoot 1000 rounds a week.

It's a shame SIG couldn't make their 22 slides out of steel, or at least design some thought and durability into their 22 conversion. There are some European 22 conversions made of Steel, but they are hard to find.

I guess if you're going to jam the slide open on last shot, it should be with a plastic follower. Something has to be sacrificed on impact, so it's probably better to replace the follower now and again, instead of your slide...

Well I bought a conversion slide from GS Designs with the slide catch notch extremely worn and was told there was only 3000 rounds through it and that its normal. Someone else pointed out that's probably why SIG never designed it to be held open on the last round as the steel against aluminum will quickly wear out the aluminum. Hence why SIGPower came up with the extended follower.

Got my GS designs extended followers installed tonight.
Pretty awesome. Look good and feel pretty solid.
Not sure about expected life, but I much prefer smashing up my follower rather than my slide. Seems like a good alternative.
The only thing that sucks so far is that you have to pull the slide back to drop the mag free, but it's a plinking 22...

You can see the difference in length
