Sig P226 Aftermarket Barrel Question

I would have the barrel turned by a gunsmith to fit the slide. the extra .6 of barrel can either be chopped off and recrowned or threaded for a comp if you decide on an open gun. The higher pressures you mentioned due to added length are moot since they function in the xfives just fine. The FTE's were an issue with the internal extractor losing strength, replacing it or bending it are well documented fixes. The external extractor on the shorter slide works flawlessly in comparison.

Okaaaaay, so the solution is to take an X5 barrel and carve a 226 barrel out of it?f:P:2:

Then why not just buy a 226 barrel?:bangHead:

Oh, and I mentioned the FTEs as a potential problem. We don't know if we're starting with an external or internal extractor. The Short X5s only prove that P226s with external extractors work fine.
But we already knew that.
