Sig P226 classic 22 as first handgun?

While I believe you were told this, the Sig website contradicts this:

The SIG SAUER® Classic .22’s are built on the same frame as their centerfire counterparts.

Exchanging components does not alter the reliability or accuracy of either assembly.

I can't imagine that the Sig warranty excludes you from using a Sig-made accessory designed specifically for that product. I will have to actually look at the terms of the warranty. That could be an interesting twist.

Perhaps Wolverine supplies could weigh in on the matter. I'll post in their forum to see what they say.

I spoke with the Canadian SIG distributor about the kit upgrading from the 22LR, and they said that the upgrade is not recommended because the frame of the 22LR is not as strong as the frames of the larger calibers. I was also told that doing this modification would void the warranty.

Bryce from Wolverine weighed in: their warranty remains intact (although he did not say that Sig honors it...hrrmmm) and its a regular P226 frame.

Thanks to all who weighed in...

Regards,

P
