Hi everyone.

Has anyone found that SIG p226 mags don't quite lock in the Norinco NP22?

I've run into this. Anyone have any insight/solution?

Thanks,

Mike.

UGGGH.... Buy a real Sig and quit throwing your money away on shoddy imitations? Sorry couldn't resist that. Zahahhahahaahaha

Thanks.

Insight/solution..remember. If I want pee on my leg I have a couple of dogs for that.

Well said! See if your grip screws are tight.( don't break 'em) I haven't had any problems but I've heard that can interfere especially with custom grips.?? Btw, I really like my mp22 it's much better than I expected for the price. M.

Will do.

I'll give that a try.

At present it only locks in with the floor plate removed.

No function problems while shootong mine either Mitch. Been alot of fun.

Mike.

Is the floor plate interfering with the grip or is it the distance between the plate and lock up? Get a vernier caliper and measure it. (compare clips) Check size and shape/angle/position of engagement. Try the clip without the grips (watch the springs). Also check to see if the clip is bent or has a burr. You asked for suggestions and I don't know what your backgroud is so please don't be insulted if I say the obvious. Let me know how ya do. M.

Hey mike, you have to post non personal messages so we all can learn! Great you solved the problem but it's not just us 2, we can all learn, that's the purpose of this site.I won't post anyting sent to me (pm) We're all in this together (except) the anti's! and they don't matter and are here too. But who cares they may learn something . YOOO HOO!!!!! It's a great little gun but like everything else you buy it needs to be loved and tuned up. great you solved the problem. Buy a harley and see how much work you have to do!!! please post what you p.m.'d me! It says it well! M.

Here goes.

Problem solved.

The Sig magazine is very well machined/tight tolerance, etc. Switched the floorplate with the Norc's which is thinner. Also, bent the rails on the base of the magazine distal to the base. Made approx 1/2mm difference.

Fits and feeds.

If you crap on Norinco that's your hangup man. Steel to Steel, Alloy to Alloy they are equal or greater to most makers. Just look at what Armco has to say about it (Norinco 1911 Race Guns). You prove me wrong. I hit the gong at 80%+ with the NP22, any load, at 25yds, and thats after 5000+ rds. If you've got the genuine article with the same results (I doubt it) don't get pissed cause you payed through the nose. Just enjoy having the real deal.

Interesting I have never had a problem switching Nork or Sig or MecGar mags in either a 226 or a NP22.

Speaking with the fellow who I bought it from there are x2 types of the Sig mags. German manufacture and newer ones outsourced to an Italian company. The Norc mags look like the German manufactured. The Italian made are very glossy deep blue. Slicker looking. The differene in fit was almost microscopic. Like I mentioned, it would lock with the floorplate removed. However no room for the floor plate.
