SIG P226 or P229

Why don't you try looking on Questars website or any of the other site sponsors that sell Sigs (Wolverine Supplies). If the Sig is on there then you can rest assured that it's legal to own in Canada.

Personally I went with a P226 Classic 22 and am ordering the 9mm exchange kit. If you factor in shipping + extra mags then it works out to almost the same as purchasing a P226 9mm then buying the .22 exchange kit. Almost...but not exactly.

Good luck with your purchase and remember that you can't go wrong with either Sig. If you're really concerned then just grab a Glock 17 and save yourself the worry ;)

How can it be the same? If you buy P226 .22lr is about $600 and the 9mm kit is about $300, so the total is about $900.
On the other hand, if you buy P226 9mm which is about $1000-$1100 and the .22lr conversion kit will be about around $300, so the total is around $1300-$1400.

Of course it is cheaper to go with the .22lr gun first then get the 9mm conversion. Not the other way around.

Any gun with a barrel measuring 106 and above is legal to purchase in Canada.. Anything shorter is not.

This info was in your course material... as I am assuming you took one....

I knew this already but I didn't know that ALL P229 have barrel less than 106mm. I thought only certain P229 models have barrel less than 106mm.

Lol, this is what I had already said above.... I guess people do not read.....

who else sells 9mm conversion kit for P226 beside Questar? Questar doesn't have it in stock and I prefer not to wait 8-12 weeks to get it.

I don't see any at Wolverine.

Al Simmon's in Hamilton has a bunch on order. Give them a call.

I sent emails to several dealers from here. I am waiting for their reply.

Is P226 all metal gun, or is it only the slide that is metal?
