SIG P226 Tacops

Hey Guys!!
Looking at buying a SIG P226 Tacops in 40S&W.

Does anyone own one of these and what are your thoughts??

Also, I've read some articles where the magazines provided are normal mags and have seating issues because of the extended grip and lack of a bumper pad. Does anyone know for sure in Canada if it come with 4 mags all with bumper pads?

We have the 9mm version. They are the normal mags here in Canada as sadly the importers aren't allowed to pin the high capacity mags. No seating issues at all.

I am a massive Sig fan, so I may be a bit biased! I really like the TacOps.

Yes it's true. You'll need some extended baseplate. Crafm have them in stock. Make sure that you have the one piece metal mag.

I've got the tacops in 40 S&W . I really like this Sig as it's one I use in ipsc.
The extended bases/ bumper pad is a handy addition for the fast reload but is not a necessity in my opinion.

Hmmm I'm not to keen on the idea of spending $1600 then have to pay some more just to get the bumper pads that should come standard. Might actually be enough to rethink my options.

I have one in 9mm .
Bought mine lightly used with 5 mags for $1000 . It runs perfect , all of the mags work perfectly too .
If you want to save some $$ just go to Micheals and buy some high density black foam , cut it to fit and glue it to the mag base . That's what the previous owner did to two of mine and they are great .

That's sure the truth , and many of them show up on the EE .
I'd suggest a model with the SRT , which a few of them have .

Grips, srt, sights and beaver tail are really the only difference between the tacops and a plain ole P226. Find a good used one and change out the grips of you really must have the magwell. Put in an SRT and change out the sights. Probably cheaper in the long run.

Great gun in 9mm. You will need the pinned 20 round mags, otherwise it looks awkward and limp with the mag well grips.

You will not regret it. I think the TacOps is one of the best models Sig has. Although the price jump from a few years ago..
