I don't think it's a problem... Take some oil and elbow grease and rub it off...

I have a sig, take care of it and it will be fine....
 
I have owned serveral Sigs the oldest being a 26 year old 220. I honestly never had any signs of rust, so I would question their propensity to oxidize in some disproportionate manner.
 
Sorry, might seem like a dumb question but is the rust kinda rainbow colored? If so, that is normal. I've seen that on a few Sig slides
 
Yea seems to be rust, classic rust coloured specks that dont come off. The finish on one part of the slide also seems to have had the finish scraped off. As well as the ejector, but Im guessing this is normal for the gun. I would post some pictures, but I have no idea how to post them here.
 
I really don't think it is an issue but honestly I have a rust spot grow on the butt of my stainless steel 686 but again stainless steel can get rust and it is normal. It is a tool after all. By the way was it made in german or USA?

By looking at the surface, there isn't much can tell except it was mentioned on the product, I work at a metal shop, we know the metal treament and processing from The State is not the same level as European country specially Germany is very good. The cutting tool from Germany can really last.

I've got two Sigs a older P226 that has been USED and it has never shown any sign of rust what so ever. The same goes for my P220. Mind you they are properly looked after. I'd take some fine steel wool and gun oil and rub it out.
 
So I went to the range today and gave her a try, put about 50 rounds through it 25 of 124 gr and 25 rounds of 115 gr, on the 115s i had two FTEs, could this be a matter of limpwristing on my part or does it just not like 115s? Anyone willing to chime in?
 
if its a new gun chances are its a U.S. gun and qc would let that slide. U.S. sigs are 1/2 the guns German guns are and material quality reflects that. If is under warranty ask for new springs.

Ah so I should call them up and ask for replacement springs? Im guessing it shouldnt be FTE. Its a shame these things happened, im beginning to regret not going with my original choice of a CZ 75b, at least then I would of paid about half the price.

You can rub the springs with Eezox and not worry about them, but I would ask Sig to take care of rusty springs as its obviously a faulty manufacturing process. They don't like that info made public either especially on forums with pics. Its a NAVY for goodness sakes, that implies lots of salt mist, and salt exposure those springs SHOULD NOT BE RUSTING period. I guarante that was made in Exeter and not in Germany.
