Hey all,

I've got a Sig P226R which I've owned for about 1 1/2 years and shot about 1200 rounds of mostly American Eagle 124 gr. FMJ without any troubles. I'd like to buy some Federal Hydra-Shok and I'm wondering if I should stick with the 124 gr. or go for the heavier 147 gr. bullets.

For all P226 owners, does the Sig prefer 124 or 147 or vice versa? It there a proffered bullet weight for 9mm?

Cheers,

I've reloaded lead and FMJ bullets in 115, 124 and now 147 to shoot through my 226. They all shoot fine and dandy but I am more accurate with the 147. I shoot a minimum 200 rounds per session for myself so I hope you have lots of money if you are just going to shoot Hyrda Shocks. PS where are you getting it from, I want some in 147Gr.

Point of impact for the 124 will be exactly what you're used to. 124 is the standard NATO bullet weight, and is never a bad choice. Your Sig is a premium quality pistol it should perform identically with all three weights loaded in the same mag. Point of impact will vary between bullet weights due to velocity differences.
