Well, time for a Christmas present for ME! I already have a P226 and I really enjoy shooting it...but. The long trigger pull gets annoying after a box or two of cartridges. The double stack width seems kinda pointless with a ten round magazine. From what I've read the P239 addresses my only two gripes with the 226; other than that, it's my favourite auto.

So - anybody have a P239 and want to chime in with a report on how it shoots? Does it correct the shortcomings of the 226 or does the smaller size and reduced weight ruin the balance of the gun? I'm interested to hear from people who own one. Thanks!

239 grip feels waaayyyy different. i love my 229 (226 but smaller frame, slide, ect) but the 239 is just a bit weird feeling, if you want single stack maybe look for a 9mm p220

also, you only get 8 9mm rounds in the 239 without the extended mags (and the 10 round mags look horrible)

...SIGs rock and I love shooting them. They feel "quality" and many people think they feel more like a "real gun" vs. polymer frame gun. GLOCK has a lot to offer though. If I could only have one pistol (perish the though), it would be a GLOCK 19... but I would be real close with the 228 and 229.

I have one(will post pics tomorrow) and ####ing love it. My favourite compact pistol, but it is an all german made gun. Not a half german american bastard. Grip does NOT feel weird at all. it almost feels like a 1911. I have medium size hands and it fits great, while my pops has very large hands and he loves the grip aswell.
again will post pics tomorrow.

I have an all-German P239 as well. My particular gun has a very crisp and consistent trigger pull and every time I bring it to the range people are always amazed at how such a little gun can be so accurate.

The only thing I did to make it better for me was to install Hogue rubber grips; this was just more comfortable for me since I tend to shoot a lot.

Why not buy some thin aftermarket grips for your p226 and install a short trigger? I installed my hogue grips last night and it's like holding a new gun!

Although, I do like the 238 and considered one before so that my gf can use it - but I ended up with a 22lr kit and aluminum grips for my p226 and now she can hold the gun much better

I really enjoy my 239 but I agree it is much more comfortable with the Hogue finger groove grips. It's very accurate and has been 100% reliable. I switched mine to the DAK trigger system as I really prefer the DAK.

Love mine, left it stock, shoots very well. Holds great groups right at point of aim. 226 is a bit easier to shoot at longer distances with 3 dot night sights, but for quick, accurate 10m this one's first out of the safe. I didn't get a thread protector with mine though, still looking...

The 225s all seem to have BarSto barrels with tight chambers. If you shoot all factory, no big deal. With reloads, especially the commercial ones out here, some FTF and FTE which doesn't happen with SIG stock barrels / same ammo. Sadly a factory barrel in a 225 makes it a prohib... I haven't seen threaded factory barrels like you can get on the 239. The 225 is nice, just hard to justify the price, which was very little less than the 239...

I have an all German P239.

It is a nice gun, but not something you'd trade a P226 for. Its more a novelty or collectors gun. It'd be a good carry gun if we could carry.

I have one. I also own P226's and P229's. I like it the best of all the Sig P-series pistols. I have hogue wraparound grips on it and it shoots very nicely. Prior to putting on the hogue grips, I didn't like the feel of the grips very much.I found them too squared off unlike the 226 and 229.
