I recently purchased a Sig P250 9mm. I don't see too much talk here about these. I know they are no longer made and have been replaced more or less by the P320.

I researched the gun a little and fired one before I bought it, and liked it. But with the lack of talk on here about them, I wonder if there's something I should know about it? Are tere any other P250 owners here and what is your experience with them?

Thanks

I have one. Love it. Until I bought my Shadow2 the P250 has the best DA in all my pistols. It is like a Glock I never have to worry about safety and etc. I find that mag dump or fast shooting is not very ideal but it is fairly accurate if you shoot by staging the trigger then fire. I see some people online saying they have issue with this gun is because they were trying to shoot the DA trigger in one straight pull. Also, even with the full size plastic frame I still find the grip a bit too small for me so I added a Hogue rubber sleeve and it is perfect for me.

I talked to MD Charlton last May they told me Sig didn't stop making the P250 completely... which is to my surprise. I thought they stopped making them when the P320 came out so I am confused... but may be it wasn't completely stopped at that time.

Oh there are 2 (or may be more) P250 trigger group models btw not sure which on you got. According to MD Charlton if your trigger group has coil spring at the bottom then your (which is mine) gun is an older model. If it is V shape spring then it is a newer model regardless of the plastic frame logo position and etc (apparently there is an even older P250 model with a diff looking plastic frame in the grip area). All these info I am told about so I cannot claim if the info is really true or not. I first thought P250 are all the same but it does seems like they got different gens like Glock ;)

btw you might already know the plastic frame and mags can interchange with P320 (non X-Five) but not sure about guide rod or spring or anything else since I don't own a P320

Mine with the spring at the bottom taken when I was sending the pic to MD Charlton to identify which gen it was :

I bought one new about 2.5 years ago I do like it but since I have many guns I still have not shot it as much as I would like to have. I have only put one box through mine.

I have two, one for me and another with a small grip for the wifey. I picked them both up lightly used on the EE and for the money I think they are one of the best pistols on the market.

Best gun to train someone in constant and controlled trigger pull.

You can 'upgrade' to an x-grip also, with the right mag plates, of course :) I just 3d printed my extensions for free with my xgrip.

(Disregard all the other blue parts, just having fun with the 3d printer ;) )

You could probably have some sort of x-vtac ish looking p250 if you used an x-carry grip with the p250 full slide...

Thanks for the information Lavino

Just took mine apart and I have the same spring.
I am in the probation period with the shooting range I joined. Patiently waiting to get out and fire it again.

Very cool Tharkhold. I'll look into the X-grip

Brownells has some, both the x-carry and full size x5. You WILL have to get new mag plates unless your mags have the "SIG" logo/square peg hole on them vs the "Sig Sauer".

This is a good read:

https://www.osagecountyguns.com/blog/news/sig-sauer/sig-p320-p250-magazine-floor-plate-updates/

Also, the full size X grip comes with the magwell and grip weigth, hence the higher price than the xgrip ;)

Looking at some 320 vs 250 parts, a lot of them are similar, if not the same, so there must be some cross compatibility between the two platforms, besides grips/mags. I should have taken comparison shots when I had both platforms.

Here's a pic of the p320 (compact) internals for comparison:

(Note that the plastic looking trigger at the bottom is a p250 schematic print, and it's not the same as the 320's)

(The trigger/slide has been upgraded by MD Charlton also as part of the Sig VUP)

As far as parts compatibility(ish), im currently printing a whole p250 to see how it all fits (if at all ;) )

Love mine shoots great, trigger is great, I had revolvers before so the double action trigger did not bother me one bit.

thanks for the feedback hank2. I think I may actually get a chance to try mine out this weekend.
I'll definitely report back on my time with it.
