I just bought this pistol with black finish ,contrast sights . This is my first pistol . Can you tell me your experiences with this pistol if you have one . What you did to it if anything ie. customized it. What magazines does it take ?
Thanks

Unfortunately Wendell may not have fully clicked on the full-size magazine as they haven't been in stock anywhere in Canada for a few months now. Unless you want to pay $100 for a legion or x5 version.

The P320 is a great firearm. I suggest youtube to learn the basics of taking it apart / field stripping and lubing it up to get accustom to it.
It's also a great resource for basics like practice drills and grip techniques but everyone's hands are different.
As for accessories... not to much you can get with the basic contrast site version unless you're talking a laser or light. Any red dot would require either a gunsmith to mill the slide or a new slide that is optic ready.

Well as you should know it has a removable fire control group which is what is actually the serialized firearm part. So you can pull that out and there is a multitude of other grip modules you can swap it into as well as caliber changes to shoot other calibers in the same class.

I got myself an AXG optic ready.. eyeballing an aimpoint acro P2 - wondering if using aimpoint mounting plate adapter for 320 if rear sights can remain / if taller sights will be able to witness through

Seeing that this is my first pistol I need some education , so I could use a little help .
If I wanted to put an optic on the P320 that I’m getting I guess you need slots on the rail to be optic ready . Can you buy a rail from Sig Sauer that has slots in it ?
Do retailers stock these ?
Thank You !

You can send it to a place like blackbox customs to get a optic cut for it in the slide, You can buy aftermarket slides and factory slides. You have to google around or search vendors on here to find parts.

I have its predecessor the p250. Though it's a totally different Beast I've done nothing with it but shoot it. My suggestion to you for Optics is definitely look through them before you buy them. I have astigmatism so EOTech or anything with the red dot reticle Bigger than 2 Moa looks like a red blob to me.

I would suggest figuring out what site you want on it, then have a competent gunsmith do the machine in for the site plate. ( different sites have different bases) I also suggest this because this way you can keep your sights on it as backup. I don't think that model has a removable rear sight which would be a dovetail slot, but if it does I would keep it there and just machine in front of it for an optic

Sorry for the spelling or any other kind of writing mistakes I do talk-to-text.

The nice thing about this pistol is the modularity. You can easily swap the grip by removing the FCU (fire control unit, the serialized part) and popping it into a new grip. There are a lot of different grim modules available such as the X series, compact, sub compact, Wilson Combat, Icarus Precision Et al available in polymer and aluminum. The slides and barrels are swappable as well.

What model did you purchase (perhaps provide a link). It may already be an optics ready model. If it is, it will have a removeable plate on the top of the slide near or part of the rear sight. Removing that will allow you to access the mount. Sig's are usually set up to accept the Delta Point Pro or the Romeo 1 from the factory. Use of a different optic will require the use of a mounting plate.

Personally, I have a P320 with a Wilson Combat Grip module, an Apex trigger and a Romeo 1

The Wilson Combat grip module is the most comfortable and ergonomic pistol grip I have ever held.

I’m looking to ask quite a few questions about my recent purchase so I’m hoping you fellas will be patient LOL!

#1. What ammo do these guns like , or is it like a rifle it varies from one firearm to another even if they are the same rifle ?
Thanks

For reliability, I'm sure it will be like most semiauto pistols - IF there's going to be an ammo problem, it's usually with lighter bullets and/or odd shapes.

IF it has a preference it will be for round nose over hollowpoints and wadcutters.

During break-in, I'll sometimes use heavier bullet weights as they tend to cycle more reliably. 124gr should be fine, but 115gr might be just fine as well. After break in, it should be fine with any bullet weight.

Sometimes aluminum and steel cased ammo will give problems, but a properly running pistol shouldn't have an issue with these, either.

For accuracy, few of us are good enough to notice the difference.

Are the Sig P320 magazines hard to find ?
Best place to purchase ?
Thank You !

Stupidly overpriced ! They really bend you over and ram it in dry when you buy P320 mags $90 a pop

Pretty hard to find in stock. My local gun shop mom and pop not online had 2 hiding in a corner and $190 with tax out the door
