Hi all, the gun was bought second hand and not sure of the round count, but I suspect it is fairly high, the previous owner was an IPSC shooter. Just sayin since this might be a factor in my problem...
Which is: after no more than 50rds it is almost impossible to pivot the slide release ( take down ) pin to the 'release' position. I have the blood blisters to prove it...finally was able to pivot it to the removal point by first 'racking' the slide vigorously a number of times, ( mostly in frustration at having no other idea how to disassemble the gun ).
I had an issue with the pin after first purchasing the gun, so disassembled it completely including the FCU. Cleaned everything to 'like new' and reassembled the gun. Worked perfectly at the range until I got home and wanted to clean the gun.
Anybody else had trouble pivoting the 'slide removal pin' ( can't remember the proper name...), to the 'removal' position??
Could the frame be worn and causing the pin to bind? Everything 'looks' OK...Maybe I'll just buy another frame and try it...
Cheers,
Jim
