SIG P-320
I just got this yesterday, cleaned and lubed it and took a look at the guts for the first time. It's the full-size model with a medium grip in 9mm. Of course I have already started to modify it with a 1911 spring and fat stainless guide rod. It came with contrast sights which are very good but those will go in favour of a competition set from either Grayguns or Dawson. I will either do a full trigger job myself using a Grayguns kit or send it to them for their full competition package. By all accounts it's a very good gun but of course I want to make it better. :) It's no beauty queen but very typically SIG made which is hard to beat on a production gun. The cost was $739 plus a few toys. Extra mags are $66 but I did better. I will buy full-capacity mags for use in the US when I go there in the fall and will also install a magwell on a separate grip frame.

Very nice! Congrats!

Where can you buy the Grayguns kit in Canada?

How hard is it to send a gun to the States? I know it would sit at Grayguns for two or three months.

I spend winters in the US and so that covers my personal requirements. I really doubt that Gray would ship to Canada but maybe. I've used a kit before on a P-226 and was amazed at how well it did. It's a bit scary if you aren't accustomed to the guts of guns and it takes some simple but important tools including punches but I was a raw noobie when I started and a desk jockey too and I did fine.

Someone else asked about shipping for repair and return and I'm not sure how that works but it must be doable. Call the ATF and or the CFO. If you get an answer I'm sure there are lots of members myself included that would be interested. Gray has about a six month wait and more business than he can handle. That leads me to believe that he won't want the headaches of getting an export license. Maybe some one like IrunGuns would help you for a fee?

If you have a SIG that was imported, ask your dealer. I bought one or more of mine from Epps.

The P320 looks great and I like the idea of swapping calibers but I found the trigger reset kinda clunky. Curious to hear a range report.

The 320 is the Lego-set of polymer pistols - you can match a variety of slides/frames together to suit your needs, and all done in literally seconds. I'm currently using a full size slide with a compact/large grip frame. Fits me better than the stock full size/medium frame it came with.

So far, I'm not happy with the trigger but I am VERY VERY spoiled with mostly high end and tuned guns. I tried dry firing last night and will continue. I expect it will improve but for me, I know I'm doing a trigger job one way or another. I can't even talk about the reset yet but I will after a range trip. Even at eight pounds, so far I would say that the trigger is OK and just as good as I've tried on poly guns that haven't been tuned.

Breaking down and cleaning is ridiculously easy. We have to remember that it was designed as a service gun. its success in competition is a bit of a surprise to many. Gray gets the trigger to a very good four pounds with very precise physical action. I will aim at five pounds even though I will never carry it. If I ever did get licenced for carry in the US I have a number of choices including converting this one and retaining the same FCU. In a lot of ways, the P320 is a hell of a buy.

Have you considered sending it to Robert Burke, AKA The Sig Armorer? He gets an excellent name on the Sig forums, but has a significantly shorter wait-time. I realize Bruce Gray works more with the P320.

I've had work done by Gray in the past and it's hard to beat. But Burke does have an excellent rep. What Gray does more and better than most is R&D.

I paid over $500 to have an X-Five done but that was extensive and involved frame machining. Grays bill would likely come to $400 USD now. But after I did that, I bought a kit for another SIG and installed it myself. The results were pretty incredible so it's hard to justify paying more. I'm not sure what Gray's new kit will be for the 320 and he hasn't yet released that. For me, this is another project gun as I love tinkering. I don't in any way need it as I have others for competition that are hard to beat.

Assuming you are a female with smaller hands, you will like the possibility of a smaller frame. This is much better than just having panels at the back as the entire grip is downsized. A Grip / Frame can be had for $50 or so. I will undoubtedly get another so that I can install a mag well and use it in the US. I do similarly with mags and buy full capacity mags and extended bases. It's hard to compete with a Canadian gun/mag when others pack 22 rounds in some divisions. SIG gives us a lot of flexibility at a reasonable cost as it is fast and very accurate too.

I am female, but I prefer the classic P Series Sigs.

I do like my husband's P320. I am holding out for the Target version, which supposedly has been tweaked by Bruce Gray.

Gray designed the trigger in the Legion which is also enticing. The kit he is supposedly going to release soon for the 320 will supposedly have the choice of three trigger profiles. I guess I have medium hands and found the regular SIG's a little chubby for my tastes. In both cases I installed the so-called short triggers to lessen my reach. Gray also has a mid range P-series trigger you can buy now or as part of the classic upgrade kit. Everything is out of stock now as demand explodes. If you have any doubt on the 320 Gray versions, watch any of the Club SIG shooters. Most are just as fast as a good shooter on a SAO

Still waiting to try the DA/SA version of the Legion P226, but the SAO version is awesome!

No doubt here in Bruce Gray's skills.

Cathy is the mag release reversible on the 320? I am right handed but prefer the mag release on the right side. Nice gun, and likely a player in IDPA. I just got a Mke 25 so a 320 might have to wait.

Take Care

Yes, I believe it is reversible.

Yep and if you want, you can get an extended one from a 3rd party. They are plastic and so easy to shorten and re checker if you want to customize.

The other items I find interesting is the selection of magazine bases. We are stuck with 10 rounds but if you like a ledge for your pinky or an extension just to make changes a bit faster or increase the weight of the mag, shop to your heart's content!! A holster comes with the gun but all the majors make them. I like the rig designed by Ben Stoeger as I detest the hanger that comes with the Bladetech. This is another AR or 1911 in terms of DIY mods you can make to personalize your gun. Happy happy happy... :)

Forgive me digging up an old thread....
Just back from the range with my p-320....Awesome...ran flawlessly...300 rounds of Barnaul (cheap and hard primed, made my g22 cough) fed fired and ejected without one hick-up...medium frame fit my hands perfectly, 6o'clock hold(combat sights) worked quickly, it really was hard to miss steel at 10/15/25/50 yards..and a fine striker fired trigger too boot....
If you have been sitting on the fence about buying one..don't..go get one...I couldn't be more pleased with its performance
Thanks dysinga...can't believe you let it go....lol

My 320 will be headed for SIG heaven AKA Grayguns in Oct for the full spa treatment and competition sights. I will buy standard mags for use in the states when I'm there as well as competition bases. a Magwell is a possibility but they don't work with 10 round mags which I really don't understand yet. That might mean a second grip module. When I do, I'll post an update. I have applied a grip tape cutout I bought from Springer Precision in the US who sell a lot of aftermarket stuff for the 320. The tape works remarkably well at $10 USD it's a steal. I wan't expecting much but the fit is perfect and I really like the feel. The P320 has quickly become one of the most popular guns in the US for all uses including competition. Team SIG racks up win after win and while that's with Gray prepared guns, a lot of people are shooting them out of the box. The MRD equipped model flies off the shelf and people are using those in competition with good success.
