I'm probably going to get a SIG P226 in either 9mm, .40 or .357sig
What are experiences with these calibers with the P226 frame ?
And most importantly, who has the best price for SIG pistols in canada ?
Thanks

I have owned a lot of handguns including Sigs. The only Sig I have really liked is the P228. In my opinion it is the right size for a 9mm. In a 40 S&W the only Sig that attracts my attention is the P229 and this is for the same reasons as the P228. Is there any chance you can find a Browning High-Power (BHP) in 40 S&W? Why? The BHP is the softest shooting 40 S&W I have shot. Regards, Richard :D

Check P&D's website. They have pretty good pricing on new ones, and excellent deals on the sig certified pre owneds.

Try Italian Sporting Goods in vancouver BC. a fellow gunnut just bought a stainless one for around $1100 new. Check out the thread that reads" SIG is there any other gun?" for more info.

P+D+1!

They were awesome to deal with and I received my product FAST. Sometimes the service is worth a few extra dollars.

40 cal is just right for caliber size for me ... not too small not too big (leans to the big side) and is affordable and plentiful, not so sure that is true of the .357 sig. with my pistol I can buy a replacement barrel for .357 sig.

You wont go wrong with any Sig pistol. I have the 226 in 9mm & it is great, never tried it in .40/.357. I have a 229 on those calibers & it is awesome as well. Both are very accurate & have been 100% reliable for me.

A friend of mine has a 226, another one has a 226 as his duty gun. Both are in 9mm. So far no complaints.

By myself I have a 228 in 9mm. Love that gun, perfect size, good trigger and I wouldn't trade it for anything else.

Having shot the 228 and 226. The 228 is WAY better, the size feels as though its balance properly for the caliber. Don't get me wrong here, i love the 226 too! But given the choice i'd go 228. It just feels right.

Question> When I was shooting the 226, i had a hell of time running off 10 extremely fast shots and staying on target. My glock can ring off 10 rds like full auto and stay on target really well. Any comments on fast shots with a SIG?

I'm the guy that bought the stainless 226 .40S&W at Italian. for 1109. It was not their regular price. I saw one (blued version) there for 1299.
do you know why they sold it for that little $ ? are you sure it was new?

Yes it was new. I placed "one last call just to check" before I bought the rufurbished stainless at Leverarms for $1059, and Italian said they just posted it on the web, and it was the last one. I asked if it was negotiable, and he said "not for that price", and I confirmed with him that it was stainless and it was new.
