Hi all

I hope someone has been through this and has a solution. I disassembled the pistol to do my first cleaning. No problem there. I can get everything back together without issue until I try to reinsert the slide stop. It just doesn't want to go back in that last 1/16th of an inch or so! I've tried moving the slide to various positions thinking that might be the issue but no luck. Obviously since I got it out it'll go back in. I'm just damned if it will for me! Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Thanks all for the help. I did indeed watch videos - that's my go to before asking anyone for help. But it just wasn't working. Anyhow...I kept playing with it tonight and got it in..FINALLY!! It's just one of those cases where you gotta hold your bottom lip at just the right place.

Like colinjw said, sometimes a 1911's slide stop plunger protrudes further than it should; when that happens you might need to use a shim (to hold the plunger in) while you slip the slide stop home.
