Good friend of mine was offering to sell me a Sig P220 in .45 ACP but he believes it was made by Browning due to the marking on the side.
Apparently it is something like "Browning Double Action" on the side. Anyone ever heard of this??

Thanks in advance.

Early 220's were marketed as "Browning Double Action" there is info on this on the wikipedia page ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SIG_Sauer_P220 ). Sigforum would be a good place to go for more detailed info. Try and get the serial number and if there are any other marks on the pistol, that will help a lot in determining its heritage.

Regardless I don't think it would affect the value except to an interested collector.
