Sig Sauer Introduces Legion Series

I picked my DA/SA last week and I've since put about 250 rounds through it. I have never shot better hoops in my life.
These are amazing 226s.

What does it mean to shoot "hoops"? I know the basketball reference just never heard it applied to guns.

Agree, though, very nice guns. Recently got a used Extreme that I'm anxious to try out.

All of our preliminary information says YES, the cases will be sent here and once registered they will be shipped from here directly to the consumer. All of the other on-line perks will be provided by Sig but all other accessories will be made available by MDC.

I am certain you might have answered this already, but would like to just clarify. As an owner of a Legion 226... how do I go about getting the case and coin setup for my collection?

I had called much earlier in the year and was told there was a delay in the cases arrival and that we would have to get back to you guys at a later date.

Email or Call? Thanks in advance for the time and for doing all you guys do to support the sports in Canada!

also, what's the process for registering our Legion??
I had a quick look at your site but didn't see anything...call/email/I didn't dig enough?????

should have mine this Friday, bought thru Lanz
thanx

SIG SAUER Introduces Legion Series Featuring Exclusive Firearms, The first are set to be available to consumers by December 2015. They will start by introducing the P226 Legion in 9mm/40/357. These are now being offered to dealers as a pre-order and should be on store shelves before the end of the year.

“We have worked with elite SIG users for years as we have developed the Legion,” said Jeff Creamer, Executive Director and General Merchandise Manager for SIG SAUER, Inc. “We wanted to know what custom features professionals were seeking as factory enhancements. The result is a line of high performance firearms and accessories that deliver not only what elite users need, but what they want.”

After customers purchase a Legion product, they simply call SIG SAUER with their serial number to register the product. SIG will then send a complimentary custom Thermo-Mold case, cut for their specific firearm and featuring a slot for their challenge coin matched to that firearm.

The new Legion member will also receive a web account login, which unlocks the Legion portion of the SIG website. Here Legion members can learn more about the privileges of being a member of the Legion and find exclusive products expressly designed for them. Partnering with companies like Surefire®, Peltor®, Blackpoint Tactical® and others, members can purchase top-of-the-line accessories made exclusively as part of the Legion Series.

SIG SAUER has also partnered with some of the finest blade makers in the industry to offer Legion-specific knives available only to members. To name just a few, Emerson Knives®, Rick Hinderer, Daniel Winkler, Duane Dwyer of Duane Dwyer Customs and Strider Knives®, and Quartermaster Knives® are designing and building these exclusive offerings specifically for the Legion.

Additional lifestyle accessories from premier manufacturers such as Gramm Works® humidors and
Key-Bar® products will also be exclusives to the Legion base.

Legion members will have exclusive access to SIG SAUER product news and training tips from the SIG SAUER AcademySM faculty. They will also be among the first to see new Legion products as they come available.

The Legion will launch with the two most prevalent SIG SAUER handguns in use within the professional community. The P226® and P229® have served countless military units and law enforcement agencies for decades. These trusted firearms are counted on day in and day out to protect those who protect our freedoms.

Both models will be finished in a proprietary Legion gray PVD coating, custom G-10 grips with a Legion medallion, the new SIG SAUER Electro-Optics X-RAY3™ high visibility day/night sights, and will ship with three magazines.
The P226 and P229 in DA/SA include a reduced and contoured Elite beavertail, which allows for a higher grip, but a reduced profile, to eliminate printing while carrying concealed. More aggressive front strap checkering and additional checkering under the trigger guard enhance the grip, even in adverse situations. A high undercut has been machined behind the trigger guard, allowing for a higher grip and greater control. Front cocking serrations provide greater purchase for cycling the action, clearing the firearm, or conducting status checks. The P226 and P229 DA/SA guns will first be available in 9mm, followed by .40 and .357SIG.

The DA/SA also features low profile decocking and slide catch levers to reduce the risk of snagging. An enhanced polished action with the SRT™ (Short-Reset Trigger) is augmented with a Grayguns, Inc., Intermediate Adjustable Trigger. In addition, a solid steel guide rod adds weight where it matters most. These enhancements maximize the user’s accuracy potential, while increasing their split times between shots.

The P226 SAO variant brings the same feature set to the table in a single-action only package. The addition of the SIG Master Shop Super Match Flat Trigger provides exceptional feel and consistent trigger pull regardless of finger placement. Additionally, the Legion SAO debuts the new single action SRT (short reset trigger) and is available in 9mm. The P226 SAO is projected to begin shipping in November

So...can we expect you to deliver the Sig Legion SAOs to dealers in 2016 or are you going to keep holding SIG days and showing off the handgun without any firm commitment to a delivery date??? Not nice MD Charlton, not nice at all.

MDC is not the one who dictates what and when things are shipped into Canada. By shear volume, Canada probably purchases less from Sig Sauer US than the state of California. Its all about perspective and MDC goes out of their way to grab whatever they can whenever they can to help satisfy the Canadian market. LDC being a prime example when they committed to an order without knowing the actual price in a take it or leave it situation.

Actually, a few of us were told last month that they had landed and were being shipped to dealers. Still haven't seen any in store except for 1 store which was trying to gouge on their pricing. MDC has been great on giving updates. I was told last week they are now delayed. I'm not sure what the delay could be since they were apparently in hand ready to be shipped to dealers a month ago but I'm trying to convince myself that possibly they got a bad batch with the coating problem and don't want to release them only to come back to be fixed. When I preordered The SAO, I started to purchase 9mm ammo whenever it was on sale and have now accumulated over 2000 rounds with no gun to shoot. I have pistols in .22 and 45 auto but no 9mm unfortunately. Hopefully everything gets sorted out soon and I can start using all this 9mm ammo before Xmas.

It seems to me what usually happens when MDC receives a shipment of guns, is that they send the pre-orders out to applicable dealers, then canvass their dealers as to who wants the remaining guns. My dealer for instance knows what my husband and I are interested in, and lets us know what guns are coming. My point is that these guns may have already been spoken for before they arrived at dealers. I do know that the guys in the States are still having a hard time finding a P226 Legion SAO.

I pre-ordered the SAO. I would suggest anyone wanting to buy this gun should order one. It is a great gun!
