Just wanted to get some thoughts on a Sig Sauer M400 Predator for 3Gun. I had a chance to look one over this past weekend (looks like its ready to run), but would like to get some other opinions on it. Thanks.

Ummm.

Stainless barrel. And.... A stainless Barrel. Was it Fluted?

No rail or mount system. So you will have to Spend another $250+ on a rail.

No Muzzle Device. So you will have to Spend another $100+ on a Muzzle Device

No Sights,

All for the LOW Price of $1600 CDN!

PASS.

The one that I was shown from the Sig rep had a muzzle devise attached. 18" barrel with rifle lenght gas system, Hogue free float tube ( this is for 3 Gun and rails on the forend are not needed or wanted, by me anyways ), Geissele trigger, and the new Magpul fixed stock. I was told that this is the way it will come from the factory.

To address a few of your points:
- the barrel is an 18" stainless 1 in 8 twist rifle length gas, medium weight under the handguard
- no rail, as this rifle is intended for three gun
- no muzzle device, as this is somewhat of a personal choice (a thread protector is included)
- most competitors will be adding an optic, sights are not necessary

The demo you handled has a PWS FC556 clone on it, as we had one in the warehouse. Other than that, the rifle was as it arrived from Sig.

Very accurate rifle from my examination of it (I looked at the same one you did Rifleman338). Seems like a solid platform and like you said, all you have to do is add a optic/mount and you are good to go. Muzzle devices are personal and some shooters even (gasp) don't bother with them at all.

The rifle is a sporting rifle. A shortened Varminter.
It has received interest from entry level 3 gun crowd.

To call it a 3 Gun Rifle is a bit of a stretch.

$1600 for a stainless barrel and a trigger is stretching it as well. The Glut is here and AR's are cheap.

Asking FULL MSRP+ will not get sales.

If you really want one, buy off a U.S site, pay the $200 import fee and it will be $1200USD plus shipping to your door. Save yourself $500
