Anybody own or have any experience with this gun? I’m interested in buying one as my first handgun. I really like the design, its cheap and it’s 22lr, making it a good practice pistol; however, I’ve read old mixed reviews, some saying its good and others saying it’s not reliable. Just looking for more modern reviews here on CGN.

I have one, I must have shot 5000+ rounds and no issues. Mine after a couple of hundred rounds starts to have FTE but run a brush through it when that starts to happen and your good to go for a couple hundred more.

Trigger isn't the greatest but for plinking at the range, I like it.

I've had mine for over two years. I've read many varied reviews with the majority complaining about something but most weren't very current at the time. Negativity has a tendency of sticking around. I was still interested and despite the personal opinions. Nothing seemed like a deal breaker for a .22 pistol as well as my first handgun at the time. I fed it cci mini mags for the break in as recommended by others as well as the manual IIRC. I had few if any problems. With either the gun or the Ammo. I've since moved onto trying other brands and have found some that are not compatible and others that work fine but the cci mini mag is the go to for problem free shooting. Full disclosure: I did end up having a major trigger problem during one range trip. The trigger started to become gritty and it took more and more force to work the trigger. It felt like something broke inside. Had to stop and go home for the day. Ended up doing some trigger work as per others experience. Some polishing and cleaning. During the work nothing was discovered to be broken. Probably just a combination of me over lubricating and using some dirty rounds. Once it was cleaned polished and reassembled it worked like new and the trigger felt better. It's not great to begin with but if you're new it's fine to learn on. I found the whole process very enjoyable and an easy introduction to some basic gunsmithing. I still enjoy the mosquito and keep it to introduce new shooters to the sport. I would recommend it but be aware of the possible issues. No gun is problem free IMHO. If you enjoy it then it's a good choice. If not sell it and try something else.

Just make sure its Newer production, Older ones had alot of slide issues, Mine broke completely in half. Still have all the parts in a ziplock bag, been waiting for a slide replacement but its been close to 2 years now

I had one. It was neat because it was one actually made in Germany. Didn't have the NH stampings like the new ones do.

Was decent. Would not buy again. Liked minimags and the bulk blazer ammo, and that WAS ALL.

I found when I wasn't hitting the target, that the weight on the front was loose, and the sight was off. Unfortunately, you cannot Loctite it, as you need to remove it to disassemble.

I ended up selling it for exactly what I paid for it, 350$.

FWIW, it had a small chip on the rear right of the slide.

I added another .22 pistol, a Ruger MK3 Competition Target, and could not be happier. I like it better than my Colt Woodsman and 22/45.

Don't lump the 220 in with the mosquito. If you are into money, you can get a 226(?) and the 22lr conversion.

If the goal is just to get a quality, accurate 22, look at Ruger MK2/3, or Browning Buckmark. If you want a revolver look at S&W 617.

I really want to buy one but it seems like a total lemon... Anybody know a gun similar looking to the mosquito sport or p220 sport?
