Hey all!

Anyone have any opinions of the Sig Sauer Mosquito? I'm looking for a decent 22lr semi. Thanks for any input.

Regards.

The search function here sucks, but it is useable. The short answer though is, don't buy this gun. Sig didn't make it, they just put their name on it, and it's famous for 2 things:
1) the cheap pot metal slide fractures.
2) it's really picky about what ammo it will reliable cycle.

Your mileage may vary.

There are many other better options, and my recommendation is a Ruger, either Mk.1, 2, or 3. While it's not the prettiest gun, it's dead reliable, eats any ammo you feed it, and mine (5.5" bull barrel Mk.1) is the most accurate pistol I own:

You will hear that they're difficult to strip and clean. Well, it takes some practice, but once you get the hang of it, it's no problem. Mind you, I haven't bothered to clean mine in years, and it still runs flawlessly. Most people overclean their guns anyway.

They can be ammo picky but if your liberal wth the oill they run fine, decent accuracy but their not a target pistol.

From all the forums that you will see, two are always on top of the list :

1- Ruger Mark II or III
2- Browning Buckmark

you will found negative points on the quality made of the Mosquito and some issue with broken barrel...
