I am looking at a higher end 9mm and the P210 keeps coming up. Can my fellow CGN'ers provide some guidance on the Swiss versions vs the newer German verions? Also, where would I find a P210 Legend Target in inventory in Canada?:)

I have shot the old Swiss p210 and handled a new p210 legend at shooterschoice in Arrowwood.

I loved the feel of the p210 legend but hated shooting the old p210. I was really disappointed with this classic.

Calgary Shooting Center has an old P210 you can rent, as I did. They also have stock on Swiss military p210s identical to the rental.

The Shooting Centre in Calgary has one in Stock, as does Shooters Choice in Arrowwood. I too, was considering one of these and I rented the one at the Shooting Center. It was ok, but I wasn't overly impressed, given the price point. Instead I went with the Swiss surplus P220 they have and it works better for me. A lot cheaper too.

All I can really suggest is try one if you can, and at least handle the Legend and see if it fits your hands. Another option to consider is the P226 based X5 if you're after a target pistol.

Thank you for everyones' input...I have found a couple of P210 legends, but have been unable to find the "target" version. Can anyone help me with this?

Calgary shooting center has 3 Swiss sig p210s in stock.

They also have 3 22lr conversion kits for these.

Thank you once again...I contacted the Shooting Edge in Calgary via phone yesterday, and the gentleman on the phone said they did not have any.
I just now phoned again, and spoke with another gentleman, and yes in fact they do have the p210 Legend in stock but do not have the "target' model; fixed sights only.
Any other suggestions as to where I could find the P210 Legend Target would be appreciated....:)

I will stick the real Swiss made, not a CNC copy.

All late model SIG Neuhausen pistols as well as SAN made pistols were CNC manufactured.... or are those 'copies' too? =)

In regards to Swiss vs German.... the Sauer made German pistols are an improvement in functionally and ergonomics and follow what many gunsmiths (like Novak in USA and Crottet and Oschatz in Europe) were doing to the P210 series for years. The safety lever and the magazine release are improvements to old designs that were impossible to actuate with any speed or efficiency. Also the beavertail extension is a welcome addition to anyone with big hands as it prevents hammer bite. The only improvement I don't appreciate is the new drop safety as it adds a 'third stage' to the two stage trigger as well as a second click during reset. Those are very faint and more noticeable during dry fire then actual firing but still quite annoying. Unfortunately in modern litigious society a drop safety is mandatory on any modern pistol. The other difference cited by many classic lovers is accuracy with the old P210 guns shipping with 50 meter test target and the new ones with a 25 meter target. However a European magazine tested both and found no difference in accuracy between the older Swiss and newer German guns. In the end its up to you if you want a more historical and collectable Swiss made gun or a more practical German made gun.

Look for a SIG 210-5, I have one and it is a nicer gun than my other two 210's to shoot. The trigger pull is like an old model SW model 27

LOVE this gun...(and its holster!!!) but if I was gonna spend the $$$, I'd buy an original!!!

EDIT: Looks like this is a nerco thread and I said the same thing I did now 7 months ago, LOL!!!
