I was wondering if the sig sauer p220 9mm handgun is a good gun I'am doing a black badge course and hopefully get into IPSC and was wondering if this gun would be good.

As far as I know the P220 only comes in .45, but the 226, 229, 250 and others come in 9mm, a SIG SAUER is a good choice for any ocasion.

P220 used to be available in 9mm as well. To answer neil_1985's question, yes, it is a good gun.

There was a batch of P220 with "American" mag release in 9mm that came in a few years back. I picked one up when they were available. Excellent guns. I have never shot it in IPSC Production because 3 of my 5 mags doesn't drop free... YMMV.

Yes the 220 is avalable in 9mm. They are most common with the heel type mag release, but they were produced for a short time with a mag thumb release. They are excellent guns.

I have a 9mm 220 with thumb release posted for sale in the ee.

I have one I bought from P and D years ago. Appearentley from what I was told they were built for a police force in the states somewhere who then changed there mind on their choice. At least that is what I was told! The one I have is like any other P220 built in North America. Fun pistol. Mags are a little hard to come by sometimes but the gun fits my hand so i keep it. ROCK SOLID
