Sig Sauer p220 sport, where are they?

I've recently become very enamoured with a sig handgun, the p220 sport. It is a .45 handgun with a compensator on the end. From the reviews I have read it appears to be a wonderful gun (and it looks awesome) but I cannot for the life of me find one for sale, anywhere. If any of you have one or know where I can purchase one, any information on this firearm would be greatly appreciated. *Note* This is not a wtb, I don't have my restricted licence yet, this is purely for interest and collection planning.

Those have quite a following in the States. Probably the closest you can get in the current lineup would be a P220 Match Elite or Super Match. They are both awesome! I'd go for a Super Match as it is SAO. You would need to order either of the aforementioned models.
 
These were discontinued a long time ago. The only place you are likely to find one is on a US auction site, and then you would have to pay a broker to import.
 
Just buy a P220 Match Elite or Stainless Elite, OR a Super match and buy a compensator..

I had a hard enough time finding the P220 Match Elite.. Forget about finding one with a compensator on it... lol
 
Sorry to say but you are a few years too late for the "Sport" model. They have been gone so long they don't even show up on Sig's discontinued pistol page now . I believe that these were German imports anyways.
I have an all stainless P220 from that era;internal extractor, which is a lot of fun to shoot and due to the weight, the recoil is negligible so I'm not sure the compensating weight was all that useful except for very limited competition use. Removing the weight would also be a bit of a pain every time you cleaned it of course. In the US I have seen several P229 Sports reworked to get rid of the weight so the owners could have a somewhat rare all stainless P229. But if it is a grail gun for you the US auction sites would be where to look for one.

The super match is a great gun, but it doesn't do it for me the way this one does. If I was just going to buy something like that I would just buy a regular p220 or other sig and save myself the cash and import hassle. Thanks a lot though for adding more guns to my fantasy list lol
 
Get this, I posted this a couple of days ago, after asking everyone I knew who liked guns about this, googling every possible combination I could think of, and finally I made this account for the sole purpose of finding this gun (I'm hooked now lol). So I think "eh, I'll google it again" and guess what comes up, a Cabella's web page with this gun on it. However it doesn't have an actual picture of the gun which is a little concerning put I'm thinking I might contact them for more information. I also just found one on gunbroker out of Rochester for a little bit more money, but the ad looks more legit, cheap shipping too. Any thoughts?
*Edit the gun broker on will only last for another two days, obviously not enough time for me to get a restricted licence but nice to know people are selling them*

I just bought a Sig P320.. And I may go take that for a spin tonight! :p

To be honest, I have no idea..

However, If you bought that gun and took it to a smith.. I'm sure he could get it done.
Thing with the compensator is that the guns usually have a longer barrel that goes right into the compensator. I know for a fact that the MSE (P220 Match Elite) has a 5" barrel. Which may help for putting a compensator on that gun? But then again, I don't know! The sig barrels drop down from the slide when they 'unlock' or 'action open'..

It would take some looking into.. If you REALLY want that gun, it's going to cost you. No matter how you look at it. You'll either need to find it in the states new or used, or get a smith to hook you up. :/
 
Ok, thanks a whole lot, ya it's looking like it's running up the cash pretty high at this point lol. I'll look into some smithing possibilities, and keep y'all posted if you want.
 
Herron Arms and Gunsmithing said that they would look into this for me, I don't know how long it will take, as I assume they're fairly busy.
