Hi everyone....I have a P226 Combat and the roll pin that goes through the slide behind the ejection port on the slide serrations isn't even. It is sticking out on one side a little bit.....Refer to pics....Is this normal or should I punch it in so it's even on both sides? Thanks.

A non issue as long as it doesnt keep moving out any further. You could tap it back in to even it up if you want too. That roll pin should be VERY tight and will take a pretty good tap with a hammer and punch to move. If its loose in the hole it should be replaced. That dual roll pin (a solid one piece roll pin is also used in some Sigs) is meant to be replaced every time its removed. It doesnt always have to be replaced everytime but if youve taken apart the top end of your gun a couple times it might be time to replace that pin if its moving around.

How many rounds have you fired and did the pin look like that when you got the pistol? If you are going to tap it in so that it's flush you should use a roll pin punch; they have a nub on the end of the punch, so that you don't fold over the ends of the pins. Pushing the firing pin forward while you tap the pins will clear the channel and make it a little easier too.

Don't bother. You'll need three hands, and the firing pin's in place already. Bash away.

He isnt joking either, it takes more force than youd imagine to move or remove that roll pin. The very first time I ever took a Sig completely apart I swore I was about to destroy a thousand dollar gun. If im not mistaken in the Sig armorers manual or DVD it recommends you use a larger hammer (5lb if my memory serves correct) to assist in removing the pin easier. Good advice on using the roll pin punch too, the dimple in the middle of it will keep the punch centered and prevent it from slipping and scratching your slide

+1. Ideally, use a press.

I just bought it and haven't fired it yet...This is how it came...The previous owner said he put 200 rounds through it...After I shoot it I will see if it moves at all.....Thanks for the replies......

Just out of curiosity, is that a spiral pin or a two piece? I can't really tell from the pics on my phone..

One of them looks like it's trying to hypnotize you, and the other looks like two 'C's, one inside the other.

Spiral ones are supposed to stay in better... I only have solid & split ones (& the unfortunate experience of smashing them out) so I's just curious.
